I live in Maud, TX which is about 20 miles west of Texarkana, in the far northeast corner of the state. I'm 51 years old and am married to a wonderful guy for the last 20 years. I work for Hospice of Texarkana as the billing coordinator. It's been a great job, and I've met some very wonderful people.
I started quilting about 12 years ago when a coworker got me hooked. I had always liked sewing, but didn't have much luck with sewing clothes. They never came out like I wanted. Quilting was much more rewarding for me. I don't have patience for hand quilting, so always use the machine. A couple of my quilts my mom hand quilted for me, which I love! It's so much fun creating things with fabric.

I use a Juki QL-98. The machine has given me not a lick of issues, the frame a bit more. Doing a diagonal line just never is smooth (horizontal and vertical were very nice).
I just replaced the sewing machine bed with Grace's "professional" one ($150) after consulting the manufacturer and it seems a bit smoother. My only comments on the machine are you need to be willing to kneel down and finagle a bit to change the bobbin (and it is standard size) and it is a bit challenging to thread when it is on the frame- not really big deals. Please let me know about using yours and what you decide on.
Thanks for the comment on my Halloween Quilt...it made me smile! It was nice and simple and let me use all the Halloween fabrics I'd been hoarding! My son immediately claimed it for his own the second I finished quilting it...glad he likes it :)
Thanks for the comment on my Mocha Meringue SNW. I must lsay that I love everythning about your SNW fan quilt - I have been thinking of trying to do one with the left over strips from my kaleidoscope quilts.
