Accuquilt GO? Is it worth it?

Posted on February 11, 2011 at 3:59pm 4 Comments

I am considering getting a Accuquilt die cutter.  Either a GO or the Studio.  Who is happy and why?  And, who wished they had never spent the money, and why?  All opinions valued.  Thanks!!

A couple of great new notions--at least I think they are

These are the best new products ever!!

Have you ever wanted a truely FLAT seam?  Like when you are doing intricate paper piecing or mini's with 1/8" seams?  I mean flat, no curling at all.  This is the product for you.  Sew the seam, apply the solution using the pen, iron dry.  Flat as a fritter and no curling.  Almost like folded paper, very crisp, but no lifting of the seam allowance.  Wonderful.  I think it would work great for the center of a Mariner's Compass, or any of…

I love my DH

The DH is such a peach that he laid, or is it layed???  Oh! I know! I know!! He spread out 16 of my 10 X 10 blocks for my postage stamp quilt.  I really have a hard time doing that.  My poor mind gets lost.  Does this row go seams left or seams right?  Is that 8 rows or 7?  Whoops, that block doesn't look right? Does this color match that color?  Hey, these seams at the bottom of block number 6 are pointed a different way from block number 8, I wonder…

Scraps and UFO's

I have one large box of scraps--lots of sizes, most LQS fabric, some of unknown heritage, also batting scraps, Dream Wool and maybe some Dream Cotton.

1 medium size box (USPS large flat rate box) with 2 UFO's. One is a batik with precut 2.5 inch strips. I decided I didn't like the fabric enough to use it. LQS. The other is a very large UFO 2.5 squares--that I am so mad at I don't even want to talk about it. Cream neutral and dark civil war (ish)…

Postage Stamp, 1" finished squares, pastel batiks, will be 10,000 squares when complete. I am putting it together in 10 x 10 blocks and 8 of those are completed.

Luann, thank you for your comment on my quilt "Flower Chain."  The linking blocks were made by many of the members of our group (like me) who did not want to do the hand applique.  Maybe someday I can make one for myself.

Thank You.  With this quilt you just have to make sure that you have the contrast to make the "weave" stand out.  It is really easy to put together and I really enjoy doing this pattern.   I am a fairly "new quilter" started in 2004 with a log cabin book.  I follow directions very well.  I use to make dance costumes and clothes for daughters.  Then decided to quilt. Best thing I have done.  I try to quilt daily. My way to relax.

I got it today in the mail. Thank you sew much. My DGD was here and she said at least 2 or 3 times, is that going to be my quilt Nanny?  I just looked at her and ignored the question.Next Tuesday is her birthday and she will be 30 years old.Hard to believe!

I looked at them right quick but had other company so I will dig in later and absorb them better. Thank You!!!!!!!!

Luann, thank you for the comment on my September BOM for Star Crazy. I liked that background print when I first say it. Wish I had bought two bolts of it at the time☺. Have to laugh though, because it comes up a different color in each of the pics I have taken of this BOM. I guess I need to get some better lighting, or at least be consistent with it when I take photos. This months picture is about the closest I have gotten to the right color.
