About Me
I've been quilting only about 4 years. I try to sew on a current project every day, but because I work full time, the weekends are my main quilting time. I have a Masters in Social Work, and work as a community support worker (formerly case manager) with my local mental health center. I'd rather be quilting!!! Would love to get training on maintaing/repairing all type of sewing machines and have a business. We don't have anything like ther here. Closest place is 3 hours away in El Paso, Texas.

Just wanted to wish all of you a wonderful weekend. After having two previous weeks of three-day weeks, this one was a long one. My BOM quilt is on its way; I feel I'll have some fast catching up to do in order to get two blocks done by the end of the month. Hi Lynn - Congrats on keeping up with sewing/quilting while working full time. I too work many hours and it is sometimes difficult to carve out time for quilting. I call quilting my therapy so I can stay out of offices like yours. ha Weekends do get filled up with all sorts of other stuff too. I moved out away from the city not so long ago and I use the distance as an excuse for staying home more on weekends so I can quilt! ha You have big dreams with your business ideas. They sound fabulous! I have a friend who opened a shop after going to workshops and researching how to do it successfully. That was about 5 years ago and her shop is awesome and doing very well. Lots of classes that keeps customers in the store. She also is a dealing for a name brand short arm machine and offers classes and maintenace on those. Hope it happens some day for you too.
