Quilt for "Variety"

Posted on December 28, 2012 at 4:34am 7 Comments

This was made for a special lady in my life that I have watched grow up since she was a little girl and now she has a baby girl.  They named their baby "Variety"  and this is the Quilt that I made for her.  I appliqued the elephant and bird using needle turn and then embelished with the embroidery detail. Mommy was…

It is to me that a year went by and no posts -  before the year is out I need to do at least one :)

A Year of Quilts

Posted on February 8, 2011 at 6:15pm 5 Comments

Wow I can't believe I did not do a post for a full year. I've gotten in looked around and gotten out, I guess I just didn't do any posts.  So I have added some pictures of a few of the quilts I did in 2010. A baby quilt for a special gal that's like another daughter, lap quilts for Dad and my Step Mom, Baby quilt for my Great Grandson, one of two fat quarter challenge quilts...   I have a few more that are not done - but had only included one of those (top only) quilts in the new photos.  My…

What's that in the sky?

Posted on February 17, 2010 at 12:56pm 4 Comments

For any of you in the Pacific Northwest... a sunshiney day is sometimes rare. And what is scary as I sit here at work looking out at the sunshine, is not that I want to go home, it's that I still want to go home and sew.

Am I strange, or just a quilter?

Have a nice day - Everyone!

Thanks! Yes Lynn. I'm doing the Galactic Explosion. Didn't Nancy pick out some wild colors. They are making me smile.

Those are neat. Are the black blue and green ones from "Galactic Explosion" BOM? If so that's neat cause I am doing that too. Anyway the blocks are pretty.

Thanks Lynn! I enjoy baby quilts - the last two I made were for newborn twin girls. I think I like the size of baby quilts - they can be finished quickly - and I like the satisfaction of a finished project!

Hi Lynn,
I'm not a native Oregonian, but my husband is.He grew up in Eastern Oregon. I graduated from Franklin HS, Portland. We lived in Portland for about a year or so in the mid 70s, then returned in 1989 and were in Beaverton for 15 years. We are now in Yakima, care givers for my folks. Our kids all live in Oregon still, mostly the Beaverton area.
I love your teapot runner - had not seen that one before. You've probably noticed I have several tea themed quilts. I'm having a hot cup of Chai as I write! Yum yum
