Hi Margo,  I'm sitting here on a rainy day browsing around QWU.  I ran across a post where you broke your wrist.  I broke mine  Aug. 4th just after we moved into a retirement apartment July 25th.  It put me back 6 wks. in cleaning out the house so am still working at it.  Bud went back to the nursing home  so I have been doing double duty now that my hand is healed.  So sorry to hear your barn burned.  My heart goes out to you folks.  I'm glad you didn't lose your cows.   Take Care ~ Irene

Hi Margo, glad to see a post from you.  My daughter has now been working at CVS in Waterville.  I was just in Maine 2 days ago.  It was a quick trip but plan on going back next month.

Sorry to hear you broke your hand but hope everything is back to normal now.

Have a great day!

Rachel

Thank you for your note on my page.  Since I've been spending two months in Arizona each winter since my husband passed away, it's been hard to spend time on contacts in this setting.  I participate in the quilting group at the local church in Arizona City and enjoy the ladies there.  Our group at my church here in Grand Forks ND will meet for the first time this year on this coming Thursday.  We meet twice a month: once to pin the quilt "sandwich" and once to tie the quilts.  We do our sewing of the tops at home.  We have one

lady who volunteers to sew around all the quilts before we tie them.  We send about half of our quilts to Lutheran World Relief and distribute the other half in the local area.  We also send blankets to the reservation in western ND.  There is a program that gives a new blanket to every baby born on the reservation and we are delighted to send blankets for that donation.  I guess it's easy for me to go on and on about our quilting activities!

I have also made a couple of purses.  One was from fat quarters of varied black and white fabrics and I see that you have done several like that.  I think we are compatible quilters!

Have a good year in quilting!  Ginger from North Dakota

Thank you Margo!  It seems since 1989 I have been the caregiver as well as the breadwinner in this household.  God is the only way that I can get thru any of this.  I pray that your hubby is doing better and will be healed soon.  Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Margo for your nice comment. I thank God often for the love and care he has for his people and I know many of you out there are lifting me up in prayer.   I appreciate your prayers, and have a feeling of peace that all will be well.  We are getting a beautiful day here.  It's a bit cold and windy but the sun is shining bright.  I have been sewing.  I love bright days to sew. Dark dreary days are hard to see on dark fabrics.  I'm making a purse for my GD.  I should have had it out to her long ago but my little sick spell set my sewing back a knotch.  The anitbotic pills kept my stomach in a trumoil so now I'm just getting to feel like doing anything .  Hugs~ Irene

Hi Margo, What part of Maine are you from?  I will check your blog.  Sounds like you have been busy.  I'm ready for the fall weather.  It has been extremely hot this summer here and don't want the muggies anymore.

I lived in Jay for 38 years.  My mom and sisters live here in New York so moved out here about 2 years ago.  I miss Maine especially the seafood.     Rachel

Hi Margo, the barns are a pattern that Connecting Threads is using for the Barn Quilt along group. All the info is on the group page. So far they are going together pretty easily.

Have a great day.

Margo, I am hoping dh and I make it to as many years as you and your dh.  You are so right the years grow much sweeter.  If young people would only hold out.  It is like Jesus turning the water into wine. He saves the best for last!!!!  Thank you for your kind words!

Margo you made a comment in Nov. on my page sorry I missed it. The table runner is a reversible table runner and you quilt has you sew it together. I taught this at a beginners class. It is so easy and also makes a nice gift. Fall colours on one side and Christmas on the other.
