What one can do when one can't sleep!

Hi My Friends,

Last night was one of those nights that I just could not go to sleep. Around 8:30 pm, I thought I was going to fall over I was so tired, so I stumbled to bed, crawled under the covers, squirmed around till I got comfy and closed my eyes. At 9:45 pm, I woke up feeling like I had slept all night. Ask me if I was shocked when I realized what time it was! So, I decided I'd roll over, cover my head and go back to sleep. um...YEA RIGHT! At 10:20 pm, I was up and headed upstairs to m

My Dream

Ok so I know that everyone everyone has a dream...ROFL but this is a real dream that I had a couple of nights ago. I dreamt of my sewing machine, my cotton fabric, my rulers, my patterns, etc. I could even smell the smell that cotton fabric gives off when you press it. I could hear the soft, even hum of my sewing machine. I could hear the sound of my rotary cutter cutting through my fabric. I could also hear the sound of my ruler sliding along my fabric as I reposition it. I was quiet amazedContinue

Rambling Thoughts....

Hi My Dear Friends, It's been a rough couple of weeks, but today has been pretty good. I did manage to get all three of the projects cut out that I had posted in my previous blog. And I decided instead of starting to piece those that I would cut out a couple more projects. One that I finished cutting out earlier today is called Harvest Time. Here's a photo and I'm using the exact fabrics used in the photo.

Ok Gals...

I'm sitting in the hotel room where my beloved is staying, with all my quilting goodies still in the jeep! Yea, Yea...I could go down and unload, but it's raining and cold! UGH So, I'll kiss my lovey when he comes in and ask him nicely if he'll go down with me and unload. As you see, I did at least grab my computer! lol

I did manage to get the fabric for Maple Island and Flower Power cut out before I left home. So tomorrow as soon as lovey leaves I'll be up rearranging the room to accommodat

Three Projects I'm starting....

Ok fellow quilters I've decided which three projects I'm going to work on starting today. One is from the book 9-Patch Pizzazz called Flower Power. This quilt uses three fabrics and that I love! It will be a 40x56 finished, photos of fabrics and pattern will be below. The second one is Mocha Merinque, I purchased the kit with the fabrics that the pattern shows, again photo below. And the third is called Amazing by Maple Island Quilts. It will be a wall hanging measuring 44x44, photo of fabricContinue

Thanks for your compliments on my quilts. It is fun to see what others are working on and to be inspired by their work. Glad I discovered this site and thanks for welcoming me to it :)
Have a good day!

Hi Maria. Sorry I've been out of touch. Seems like life just has a way of getting in the way of all my fun. We had a big sale at the store on Valentines week. Getting ready for that and trying to re-coup has not been an easy task. I'm also training 2 new employees. One will be the re-buyer for all our Bernina accessories and the other is our new receiving person. Both are catching on very quickly. However, it is all the interruptions to my day that are putting me behind in my work. Last pay period I had 12 hours overtime. This next 2 weeks will be about the same. Hope your feeling well. Let me hear how your surgery goes. Susan

Maria I hope your surgery goes well and you will be up and at 'em again really soon. I sometime have trouble getting away because of my DH's health. I won't say how old we are but I know tha we have both topped the hill. I may not be sliding down the back side of course but there are days when I know exactly how old I am. I really think it more the number of miles traveled than the number of years. But what the heck, I am enjoying it all the way.
Keep us all posted on your surgery and if there is anything we can do to help you out let us know. Gayle

Hi Maria, I have been there on a couple of occasions but not toooo often. DH says it is not smart since I drool all over everything. I want a Tin Lizzie sooooo bad. Anyhow I love that place. I live about 30 miles away from them but I just might have to check into the classes. I would love to be able to take something just to have inter action with other adult ladies that quilt.Since my Mom died I don't have much time with other quilters. Thanks for the info . Gayle
