A Huge Thank You

Making the Fabric selection highway easier...

I really want to give Qudo's to Connecting Threads for thinking about Me (the quilter who can never get the fabric colors just right) by creating the StashBuilders. I find for me that is the most fustrating and often times the most threating for a quilter is getting all the complementing fabric colors in a quilt or project. I always second guess or at the end of a project say "If I had just chosen that....other color of fabric".

You are making it easier for me and I know so many more quilters who just have not found their comfort zone yet picking out fabric and color.

Now on to my next project.

IT'S A GIRL!

Posted on August 31, 2009 at 11:33am 11 Comments

WE GOT NEWS!

After blessing a young family with two healthy, strong, independent baby boys to our family clan in the last 5 years my only daughter called this morning with tears of joy in her voice (at 6am my time) rising me out of my morning slumber with 'MOM IT'S A GIRL'. I had to ask, "Baby are you ok, what what is going on...until it hit me.

We are going to celebrate the birth of our first baby girl in our family come early Jan 2010.

I was awake… Continue

Little Advice

Posted on August 17, 2009 at 9:23am 6 Comments

Need advice. As most of you know I live with Terminal Cancer and no longer work out of my home. The other day with my daughter expecting her first baby I made what all quilters do a first grandbaby quilt. But in this one I added a recording of my daughters personal baby womb sound to which I recordered on a small toy device. (I know have this in a Patient Pending).

I call the little idea "Baby Quiet Quilts" by NeNe. Now the baby quilt is very sleep friendly plus nice and… Continue

Christmas Kits Arrived

Hmmm.....

I opened all my goodies I ordered from the new Christmas theme items I ordered from Connecting Threads. I was sorta alarmed at the smell of the fabric it seemed very strong with a toxic glue smell. I washed the first batch and then decided to just put the other in the dryer with a softner sheet it took out most of the smell. Did anyone else notice the smell?

I also ordered the Pillow Case set to do with my grand girl, but the instructions were so… Continue

Gone South

Hello from the land of HEAT!

Yup, last week I decided why not pack up some shorts, tees and my walking shoes and head out for a small vacation. Packing my bags, watering the yard real good, checking the security and my bank account I took off to Phoenix AZ.

Yes most would say ARE YOU CRAZY with the heat being at 115 per day. However, I love the area. If you have been here maybe you grasp the reasoning behind that feel and… Continue

Gone a Missin?

Posted on July 14, 2009 at 11:16am 12 Comments

Hmmm...today was an odd sorta of day. Being I have lived in my home for 30 years and know every nook and cranny loosing something is a feeling that is very unsettling. What did I loose, maybe a pot or pan, fork or knife or my car keys? Nope!

Today what came up missing is my HUGE CUSTOM designed pools side patio umbrella. Yes you all know the kind that sticks down in a metal base, opens up to a huge size? I did not notice it gone until this evening when I went out to sit under it as… Continue

Hi Mary, piqued your interest in the taggies? Ok here is what you need to do. All the information you are looking for will be in two places. 1st in my photos on my page, there are two pictures named "tag blankets" Those are pics of what they look like. 2nd I have a blog post called "Light at the End of the Tunnel part 2. I tell in detail how to make them. This should be what you need. Let me know if this is enough information. They sure do love them. Hugs to you too!!! Your grandaughter needs one!!

Thank you for adding me as your friend. I cannot remember where I had gotten these patterns, some were from Simplicity I believe. I am in the process of digging them out to start some Christmas presents. If you can't find them on line I would presume they are out of print, so I would think there is no problem with my copying them to share. Let me know.

Hi, Mary. Thanks for adding me as a friend. I do run a small machine quilting business, and although I have never offered mail-away service, I have been thinking about it because a few others from out of state have asked me on QWU. If you're ever interested, let me know. I'm sure we could figure something out.

Hi, Mary. Thanks for the compliment on my blazing star quilt. Yes, I did the machine quilting on it. I have a LA, she's an oldie but a goodie. (Only about 7 years old-not too bad.)
Looks like you've been busy with CT kits! Wish I had the money for a lot of them. I think it would be very hard for me to choose. Love you QFTC t-shirt quilt by the way!
Happy quilting, Andrea

Thanx but I can't take credit for the colors-it was from a kit--I am terrible when it comes to matching up colors so I cheat a "little" bit.

Thank you-- it was a BOM from 2007--maybe I'll get it done for THIS Christmas.
