I'm hooked!

Posted on February 25, 2009 at 10:44am 14 Comments

I'm so excited. I just finished my first attempt at applique. I am please with the results but know I have LOTS of practicing to do before the finished result is show quality! I can't wait to hang it in its place of honor.

Happy New Year from southeastern Virginia!

I'm excited about the new site and hope to finish my very first applique quilt. I have been sewing and quilting for over 20 years but never had the confidence to attempt a real applique quilt. I finally took the plunge and LOVE IT! I'm looking forward to learning so much more!

I'm glad you enjoyed the book, I'm on the fourth one right now and just havent had too much time to read these days, the kids are keeping me busy with spring sports.

Well - you're not gonna believe this but I got very sick late Friday and was so sick I had to cancel. She hasn't been able to get me in since I am leaving tomorrow to California. Hopefully in April - I was so disappointed that she wasn't able to squeeze me in until April, so i have to wait. Thanks for asking. I'll keep you posted!!!

I don't have anything picked out. The class is providing a kit. If I like it, I'm sure I'll start hoarding patterns, like I do with books, fabric, and notions. I'm obsessive. When I purchase fabric, it's not just fat quarters or pieces. I buy everything to complete a Queen quilt. I probably have "medleys" for over 10 quilts in my sewing room, including backing. I'm pitiful. I'll let you know how the class goes.

Thanks. I was thinking in the $30-35 range. I don't remember what I spent on fabric as it was fabric that I have had in my stash for awhile. Thanks for your help and have a great weekend.

Hi there! Got a quick quesiton for you. Since you have made the Bow-Tie bags and know the work that goes into them, if you were setting up at a caraft fair, how much would you sell them for? Just want to have a second opinion. LOL. Thanks!

Thanks. I find the hardest part of making anything...totes, quilts, table runners..anything is finding coordinating fabrics. I can spend 30 minutes picking out the fabrics from my "private fabric store" as my husband refers to my sewing room! Have a great day!

I posted my picture of the bag on my page if you want to see it. I really got a lot of compliments on it today. Off to go make some more!
