About Me
I have been addicted, I mean quilting for around 10 years. There is just something about cutting apart fabric and creating something from all those little pieces that nonquilters just can't understand. I come from a floral design background. (I owned my own shop for 28 years.) And quilting fulfills my need to create. I'll never win any contests, but I love it and love giving my creations away.

I owe my mother........

Posted on May 12, 2010 at 5:18am 9 Comments

It's a tad after Mother's Day, but needed to share this. I know that my mother and/or my grandmother has said each of these to me and my brother. In turn, I have imparted that wisdom on to my boys! :0)

cleaning."

Shabby scarf

Posted on February 4, 2010 at 3:06pm 2 Comments

Here's the website where I got the idea for my scarves. They were too long to post, so the website line is easier. Of course I've made many variations on this and if you try it, I'm sure that you will make it "your own" too. One tip that I can give with this-the instuctions tell you to use a spray adhesive on the wash away stabilizer. I used it on the first couple that I did, but had a heck of a time getting the sticky to wash out, so I don't use it any longer. I just pin the heck out of it and… Continue

gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!

Thanks for letting me know Melzee. It is important to stay within our limitations. Do you want to keep on the list for future ones?

Melzee - Please contact me ASAP (today would be best). We're starting a new group challenge quilt in LOAQ and I need to know if you want to be a part of it.  BJ

How funny that we'd buy the same jelly roll!  I can't wait to see yours.  I think they could look very different depending on what order the strips are in.  I just threw them in a basket and picked them out randomly.  It's so fun to see what it looks like once it's finished.

Think about taking the Marilyn Belford class on Quilt University, it starts October 7.  She is a member of the LOAQ group too, so I have started a Discussion Forum of members who want to take it.  She does awesome work, and I know it will be fun and a real learning experience.

Guess I just assumed you owned a quilt shop, my I have too much of a fabric addiction to own one or work at one.  I always say if I worked at one it would cost me too much at the end of the week.  I can not resist fabric!

Hi,

I just wanted to say hello and drop a couple of links that you might find useful.

Spoonflower is such a great resource when you're looking for a completely unique fabric and I'm very excited to be debuting my own designs this month. I will be adding to these designs on a weekly basis, so please check back often.

The FREE BOLD E-zine is a very helpful resource for those who write or read blogs.

I enjoyed viewing your work. Fabric is such a wonderful medium in which to express our love of shape, color, and imagination. Best of success with your projects.
