Christmas??

Yes, I know it is still August but I was afraid I wouldn't get everything made this year if I didn't start right now. So this is a table runner for my oldest daughter, she is a pink-rose-dark green, nut. She doesn't really need anything for the house so I thought well, you can always use something like this just to spruce things up sometime. Plus I didn't really want to… Continue

I'm Here

Sorry I have been gone so long. I think I have everything straight in my head now so maybe I can get something done. I am working on a little bit of Christmas but I have a long way to go yet. I just don't seem to have the energy to make myself do anything. But I am going to keep at it, surely I will get energy sometime. Take care.

WOO HOO

I'm am doing so good after my eye surgery that it is unbelievable. Since all this started I haven't touched my sewing machine because I was afraid I would sew through a finger or something. So I have been working on my crocheting because since I can feel the stitches I know exactly where to go. Now that I can see I have been going through some of my stuff and arranging my mess, then I got to my bag of crocheting....oh my goodness. What I thought was 'good stitches' turned out to be just awful !!… Continue

Bloggers Beware !!

My surgeon turned me loose today and said he didn't need to see me until surgery date for the other eye, June 3. Of course he said if I had any problems to give him a call--call?? I will give him a YELL. He's not dealing with some old tough guy here, this is a old grandma that can still tell him what to do. He told me we would check the corrected eye to see how things looked before surgery. Guess what I told him--I said if we are talking about looks, I would like to be 5'7", thin and blonde. He… Continue

Thank You--But I have A Question

Thank everyone so much for the "Welcomes" but my question is. What has my goofy husband been doing? As certain friends know he is always trying to get in on our chat sessions, and anything else he can think of to be one of the 'gang'. He is really a super keeper. He will just love that you asked if he wouldn't be writing anymore--big mistake, he loves to talk and write, so do I, around here we are both talking at the same time !! My eye feels great today and again I am not using any glasses as I… Continue

Here I Am !!

Hi all, I have really missed being here but since my eye surgery the Doctor turned me loose Monday and said I could do whatever I felt my eyes could stand. He should never have told me that !! Honestly, I have been very good today and this is only my second thing to write, but I will give warning that Molly is tired of being quiet !! This is all for now but I will try some more tomorrow. Have a good night.

Education Group

Schatze has started a new group on Education and it is very good. What makes it so good? First off, it has book reviews aren't we all crazy about books? But it is nice to hear the regular quilters thoughts instead of the advertisements. Then we have the Notions discussion. New ones or old things used in a different manner. There are also How To Do certain quilting tricks, and tips. This is an interesting group so take some time and go check it out, better yet go join it so you won't miss anythin… Continue

My Present

Here is a photo of the quilt that my great friends made for me, and the one they made for my husband. Mine is the first photo and his is the second. Now aren't these great gifts? They really lifted my spirits, and how nice it is to rub my hands over it and thinking about my friends that made each block. My husband says no touching his quilt, I have one of my own to play with. The calendar may say April but somebody forget to tell the weather person. It is still cool here so this quilt really fee… Continue

Guess What I Got In The Mail Today

I have only been on this blog since January, but I really like it. I also belonged to another quilt blog that I really enjoyed....until the spammers found us. So some of my friends migrated over here because I told them what a great place this is, and I was right. Everyone here welcomed them with open arms, and I do thank everyone here for that. Now all this jabbering is leading somewhere. While we were still at the old blog there was a conspiracy started that was going on behind my back, and I… Continue

Button, Button, Who's Got The Button?

Remember that old game? Some of you younger ones won't, but those of us that can't remember where we hid that piece of 'perfect' fabric certainly do. Well, I was going to do something as simple as change out these old buttons on my blue jacket for some newer blue ones. As Julia Roberts would say, "blue is MY signature color." Not a difficult job, right? Wrong. Now you know that common sense tells you that if you start a project and begin to have problems, you should just stop and put it off unti… Continue

Guess What I Did Today

Nothing! We both have been putting off going through this one closet for some spring cleaning. Somehow with snow everywhere it is real easy to talk yourself out of it. But Jay decided that today we had to do something. So he said my job was to sit and talk to him while he went through everything. Shoot, I can handle that job, so off we go. Now he hadn't made it 10 minutes when he discovered a huge suitcase and said,"I think this is yours." So off I go to dig through it. OMG, I found all sorts of… Continue

Beautiful Day

I think I live in the Land of Oz, one day it is snowing, the next day we have a blizzard and you can't get out of your apartment. Now today it is bright, sunshiny and 73*. If I see a blue horse or a little dog come by I think I will just go to bed. We went and just sat outside it was so very nice, I haven't done anything usefull at all, I have been so lazy and just enjoying the weather. But there is one bad thing about it, you sure get sleepy sitting out there. I think I better go make sure my p… Continue

My Geese Are Flying Everywhere

I have been sewing geese all morning and just making a pile of them, when I looked to see how many I had made I realized they were just everywhere. I am doing something unusual for me, I am using all bright colors, most of the time I use pastels. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and use the bright colors I love but are always too 'safe' to use. So we will see if I chicken out and don't put them together to actually create something and instead just keep the geese as pets.

ER Visit

Jay and I went to a restaurant to eat yesterday that has become our favorite place. The owner has become a friend and usually comes and sits with us to talk for a while. Well yesterday she brought over a small piece of chocolate cake for us to try, she said it was one of her new specialties and wanted our approval. When I took a bite I commented that it was very sweet, she said no not really. So Jay and I shared it. Then about one hour later, I passed out. Jay finally got me to wake up and we go… Continue

One Seam Flying Geese

I've had some people ask about the one seam Flying Geese so I decided to post the link to the video. It is Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. So enjoy. Thimble thoughts.

Geese Are Everywhere!!

Weeeelll, not exactly true geese, but they are flying. Okay, truth is I am making the one seam flying geese and I have them laying everywhere. My husband says organize them....I said, "What's that?" Wrong thing to say because here he comes to help me. Oh NO, don't help, they are in an organized mess. I know exactly where each one is, it's on the table. No problem. So he decided to run some errands in town. Gee, I love that guy. We have a bright sunshiny day here, just beautiful. Snow? yep, every… Continue

New Members

We have had 15 people so far from another blog join here. I wanted to thank all of you for being so nice. Then I thought about it and decided "How Rude". Y'all are being yourselves in welcoming us and being so helpful and so nice, and making us feel like we are instantly part of the family here. Trust me, we all appreciate it. We do say Thank You though.

Have not heard from you in such a long time. Somehow I got wrapped up in my own problems--my fall with broken ribs and broken foot--that I haven't kept up with what is going on with others. I hope you are doing well. If you are very tired be sure to make rest periods for yourself to recharge.

Molly, are you working today on your g daughters quilt? I am so happy that you are doing so much better. I know I may not be able to do all of what I once could do yet I have accepted recently this, and going after what I can do... that is quilting. I am going to be off the next three days...husband is coming home tonight. I only have two days with him. Do well on the quilt. You do great work by your pictures. Hugs friend, Morgan

Hi Molly,
Sounds like you and Jay are going to have your hands full for a bit :) I know it will be a great visit for all of you...enjoy it and just remember to rest from time to time or at least come up for air!
The weather here is very wet. It seems so odd to actually be having a normal spring. I can't remember one like this for a long time, where it has been so cool and damp. Ok, Not DAMP, down right wet . We have had quite a few weeks of continual rain broken by one or two sunny days with temps above 70. Today it acutally looked like rain all morning but it cleared out and went up to 82! Now can I have that for a week? I guess I am greedy wanting that, but I want the webs in my toes to go away, since I am not really a DUCK .
Next week on Wednesday I will be heading into NJ to visit with my sister and go to the NJ Quilt show with her. She also quilts so we always have a great time and are planning on meeting up with several of our friends from our Lancaster group.

I just really need to get away for a few days. Things have been very depressing trying to sell the house and it seems like nothing is going anyplace with it. Meanwhile the bills keep coming in on it and I don't even live there . Oh well, such is life and this too shall pass.
I have been working on the oval version of my avatar. Turned out to be more complex than I thought it would be and I just havn't had the ambition level to work on much of anything the past month or so. Maybe I will work on it some more tomorrow and then pack it up to take with me so I have something to work on at my sisters.

I am so happy your seeing better and can't wait to hear about your quilt projects when you get back to them....

HUGS and have a fun time with the family :)

Molly--my dad tells a story about someone who was asked how she was doing, and she replied, "Pretty well, under the circumstances." The reply, "What are you doing under the circumstances?" Clearly you are a joyful person who lives above her circumstances, dancing with words and sheer exuberance when you can't necessarily use your feet. i'm looking forward to getting to know you as i read your blogs. Blessings on you. (And thank you for the cia'ss pallette website--i also found one called the quilter's cache which is very good, but all print insteadof pictures).
