I finally finished it. I was determined to throw it away but I finished the last three squares friday. After that I was going to put all 30 squares in a box and never look at them again. This morning I decided to go ahead and sew the top together. I finished it and am so glad it is over. I have not had a top stress me out as much as this one has. I think I am going to give it to my oldest son, Zachary when he graduates. He came in and saw that I was sewing it together this morning. …

Pins, I have lots of pins. I need more pins. I actually am looking to get a different kind than I usually buy. I read a post one day about different pins that everyone used and of course now I can not find it. What kind of pins does everyone use and do you have any input on not using some over using others? I figure pins are like the material. Better quality of pins are gonna cost more but produce a better product.

Ok so I went to the quilt show this past weekend in Hampton, Va and was inspired to start EPP. There was this beautiful quilt with 12,256 hexagons. I bought some hexis and some honeycomb pieces. I have started this really cute piece I will probably make a pot holder out of. All is going really good though until I cut 1" squares in half to finish the block. I can not figure out how to fold the fabric around the tiny half square triangles to get it right at…

Monicka,,,how are you...I see your from North Carolina.....How far from Warren county, NC are you? write soon, Joanna
Hi Monika, I don't know if I ever thanked you for your kind words from my blog back in April. I really appreciated your kindness. Since that time, I haven't been able to write a single word. I think it was the acceptance. But you were really nice with your comments. Thank you so very much. God's blessings to you. Hugs. Linda
Hi Monika thanks so much for your comment on the quilt I am trying to work with the boarders sure not as easy as the star...gotta line everything up. I love that scrappy star of yours I am watching your blog as I am typing this..also a gorgeous multi batik in there. I am not a batik fan but that one changes my mind!
Thanks again Monika. Yes, I do my own quilting. I got a long arm about a year ago and love it. I quilt mostly for myself though I've done a few for customers. I keep thinking about actually making a business of it but not sure I want the stress :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. It is so good to hear really good encouraging words! Lately I've been getting some criticism and some of it not very nice. Normally I could take it with a grain of salt, but now I struggle. I think because now I try so extra hard with my words. My words come from my heart and I think from God too. My life is not under my control because every time I attempt to make plans it becomes very apparent that HE has other plans for me. So I just go with the flow. Where ever God is leading me, that's where I'll be. I have just realized why fight it? tehe..I'm just hurting myself. And why fight God and my faith...that is my strength! Thank you for letting me continue to ramble on. While I'm on your page. I'm going to look at your gallery. God's blessings and peace to you Monika.
Thanks for the compliments on my pineapple salsa quilt. It's made of all of the exact same pineapple block just rotated in different directions - they're an uneven version of pineapple blocks.
i really like your dove in the window quilt - gorgeous colors!
LOL. Did you do the Crown Royal Monnogram? That is pretty cool. I have thought about sending my quilts out, but when I look at the cost, I change my mind real fast. I will keep fighting it out I guess. Beautiful work by the way. Love all of the stuff you've done.

What kind of machine do you do your quilting on. I am still learning and feel like the quilt is winning when I do a larger one. Mine is a Bernina 440 QE and I wish I had one with more neck room.

It has been, Monika---God had some blessings for me today that I hadn't anticipated, especially a good visit with a quilting friend talking about her late husband and about my dad who died this summer--happy stuff and good memories. Then a haircut--always a blessing b/c of the lady who does it, she came here from Vietnam as a refugee and has built a life, a family, and a business. And you! It touched my heart to know you were thinking of me today.
