About Me
I started quilting in 2008, and have become totally addicted! I am working towards doing portrait quilts of people I love. My upcoming challenge is going to be a wedding portrait of my sister and her husband. Hopefully I will start that one this winter after all the Christmas rush is over.

Wow, it's been a while...but super exciting!

I haven't visited the boards since winter it seems, I usually put away my sewing until fall comes again because here in Canada we really need all the nice weather we can get and I like to be outdoors enjoying it.  This year I ended up with a project that ran e in until the end of April, and along the way I decided to join McCall's Quilt Design Star 2012 Contest.  I submitted my "In His Hands" Crib quilt, and made the first round!  So I guess I will be doing alot of sewing this summer,…

Christmas is over and it's back to normal routine...thank goodness for that!  Wow, from year to year I think we forget how much work and how tiring that holiday can be!  I'm finally getting back to my sewing room, made a quilt journal for 2011...and I'm working on machine covers ( I call them pajamas...because they wear thier hard covers to go out:>)  LOL!

I am also on the edge of trying to learn a new thing...haven't started yet...but I am going to teach myself to free motion…

Doing the Happy Dance!

For Christmas this year my wonderful hubby bought me a Brother Innovis 4000D!  I am thrilled!  I can't wait to try it out!  THis is my DREAM machine!

I'm stuck! Any ideas?

Looking for a very creative idea...I want to do a wall hanging...a picture of a house, with the four people who live in it. (faces only) Maybe a collage sort of? Would love to figure out a way to do it without 'frames' Have one picture kind of fade out and into another somehow, or maybe border them with something not so distinct. Been racking my brain for an idea of how to do this. Someone here probably has the perfect answer! Ideas anyone? Thank You!

Hello everyone!

Came back to see you all, hope everyone is well! The cool weather is setting in once again and I am back at my machine. Finished two quilts so far this fall, and I am working on another very challenging one at the moment...a collage of sorts, of my grandaughter. I will be joining the quilting arts group on here! Happy quilting...

I wanted to thank you for commenting on my post today---it's been a time of feeling very alone for me, and having quilting friends, old and new, reach back to me really helped.

The puffin was great fun to do. My BFF loves puffins and I've been on the search for just the right one to do for her. When I found this picture I knew it would be perfect. It was fun using all the different threads and the Angelina Fibers on it.  Thank you for the great comments.

It is good to hear from you. Hope all is well and that you had a great summer.

Thanks for the comment about my feather quilting.  Takes about 1 month of practice to finally get the feathers to look acceptable.  I always practice before I start any new quilting project or if I've left it for awhile.

Thank you so much! All There are no such classes here either. All I know about making portraits I have learned from Marilyn Belford in her online  class Realistic Portraits in Fabric at Quilt University. A new class starts February 18!

Hi Morel, thankyou for your kind comments on my thread painting. Welcome to the LOAQ group too, I seem to have been a bit distracted lately and missed your comment on my page. It will soon be summer holidays here and I plan to have a bit more time to dedicate to keeping up with my quilting friends.
