How about????

Over in the Slacker's group this morning, we have been chatting about how nice it would be, if all of us quilters at the end of our names on here, just add a / & your state initials! Then, no one has to ask what state you are from! Think of all the posts it would save too, & it's kind of fun, seeing right away, what state someone is from, not to mention, what time it probably is where they post from! So, if you are all for this, go change yours, it only takes a minute or two!

Thanks!

A Recent Finish To Share!

Hi All,

Just posted this in one of the groups, but wanted to share it with everyone! I recently finished this quilt & gifted it to a friend, co-worker of my hubby's, who told him she recently had cancer surgery & is now have chemo. When he told me, this was a work in progress, & I knew right then, where it would go! It's called Tesselating Tiles, & this is my own scrappy, mostly batiks, version, & we designed the border ourselves!

Enjoy!

Another Newbie, from Western NC

Hi Everyone!

Another quilting forum just starting up, how exciting! Hubby & I are empty nesters, three kids & two grandkids, all grown, kids that is, & living in CA, where we moved here from in 97'. Got seriously into quilting long about 7 years ago, or maybe longer, haven't kept track. Been sewing most of my life, & was quilting printed stuff, long before I took the plunge, on my own, & started piece quilting, & haven't looked back. I still sew a bit of clothing now &am… Continue

Hi Nancy, Just wanted to know if you saw the cookies...peanut butter ones.

I saw that you downloaded the free pattern for LeMoyne Star, & the free handbookI also see you have two books ordered from her. Nancy you will love this. Now do not be scared at all to try printing these on the printer. ( I was before I tried it) ... it is awesome, and you can do everything so much faster. This is how I learned to hand piece. If you have any questions just ask away. Maryam and I joined the same time there. Once you iron on your freezer paper onto the fabric... you just stick it in the printer and bingo you have all your pieces marked off. The you can take your rotery cutter and in a second you are ready to start. I bought her book 1 and book 2... with the most awesome dvd.. on every question you may need. She teaches you all the steps. I just love it.
Try the cookies out.... also my grapenut pudding.... have a great evening! Hugs Morgan

Hi Nancy, There may be a reduced rate spay/neuter program at one of your local shelters. If not, check with your vet and explain what you are trying to do. Sometimes the old country vets will take pity on us suckers crazy animal lovers who try to save them all! grin! If he can't do it, he may be able to lead you to a program that will help with the cost. If you can afford it, I would definitely spay the females, because a male will travel miles when he smells a female in heat. If you can get the one male, that's great too, they can impregnate many females in a short span of time. With food readily available at your house, they will keep coming to you. Which means, unless you do something, you'll be overrun by kittens. Which we all know don't stay little long and will soon begin having more of their own. So the sooner you spay her, the better. I know there are a lot of vets out there only in it for the money, and spaying is not as cheap as neutering, but if you ask around, you'll start hearing from people who might be able to help. Good luck finding someone to help you out with this. If I can find any more information, I'll pass it on.

Nancy, I try to remember, "People before things." I love the Asheville area. We lived on the other side of the mountains in Knoxville when we were first married--loved it. Just enough snow, just enough summer, beautiful fall. I enjoy having my DH home--he retired on disability two years ago, while I home schooled our two kids until the younger one graduated back in May. We are enjoying the flexibility of spending time together (without my having to go and do math or English), although I spend too much time on the road taking care of elderly parents. Enjoy the leaves for me.

Hi Nancy and a big thanks for your nice words - have been following the group but no energy to write - I hope you will be able to do all the stuff you want when your DH retires .... don't keeping anything for later - do it now - also have been following that MAC thing ... I have a regular computer - and yes I can hear your DH .... because I have a son that bought a MAC too - and he just won't bulge - but now he has to borrow mine because his as'' frozen'' won't do anything - and being in school - well no money to have it fix .... Apple said he dropped water on it which is not tru because it was here all the time - so we wait and see - and we will try to have it fix soon, - as for you keep up your nice blocks - and hopefully will start those back soon - oh and keep that coffee smell in the morning.

Your blocks are beautiful. I am so impressed with the number of blocks you are finishing--both in SBS and DJ. Wow!

Thanks Nancy, I have some applique needles that I can use. Bought them at a quilt show. Just never have heard of a straw needle and thought they might be better. Probably won't get started on a real project until after the holidays. Have a good day.

Nancy,

I was just in QIAD and Caroline posted the following:

I have had two people e mail me that they are getting denied access with a warning about a security risk...I havent had a problem.Anyone else?? The administrators might want to look into it..

So I guess others are having a problem also. Someone mentioned "adware" problem. I don't know what that is, but at least you are not the only one. An administrator is going to look into it.

Hi Nancy, I've been able to get on, but have had to sign in quite a bit in the last few days. Maybe they are re-structuring.............haven't heard anything. If it continues, maybe call Karyn at customer service.

I'm curious now, please let me know.

Linda
