Since I need more room for my quilting machine/frame, my husband Joe has agreed to give up out master

bedroom so I can have more room.  Not many men would agree to that.............I am one very lucky lady!

New Machine

Just want to share my good news.  I just purchased a Mega Quilter and picking up the quilting frame tonight

after work.  This dream came true after I made a promise to my Mom before she passed away at the end of

March.  She made me promise to get the machine and realize a dream I have had for a long time.    I need to

rearrange my sewing/quilting area to accomondate the new machine but it will be well worth it.  Mom is

smiling down on me and will be with me with…

Quilting Frame

Back from Wisconsin with a garage full of boxes with all my Mom's things.  Her Singer 301 sewing machine

has safetly arrived in Buckeye, AZ and placed in it's new place of honor.  Little by little I am opening boxes

and sorting what I want to keep, what goes in garage sale and what goes out.  It was so hard to clear out

the house and put it up for sale.  Seems like only yesterday we were moving in (28 years later).  Mom's curio

cabinet and Hummels are proudly…

Wisconsin Bound

This weekend my husband and I fly to Sussex, WI to clean out my Mom's house.  She passed away on

March 30 after coming to AZ for colon surgery.  So many mixed feelings about this trip.  We will spend

Mother's Day packing up her belongings bringing many of them back to Buckeye, AZ with us.

Her 301 Singer sewing machine will be added to my sewing room.  Many great memories of all the clothes,

barbie doll clothers and patching were completed on this machine.  For all…

Thanks for friending me and looking at my stuff. The calendar quilts are Kim Schaefers designs. I did modify a few of them like the snowman and the Jack o Lantern, but I loved the April rain and the June watermelon as is. I looked at your quilts and yours are wonderful too! Esp. the witch I like. Happy Quilting! Linda

My apologies for not writing sooner! How was the wedding?  Yes, we did have some pretty hot and muggy weahter for a while, then it got more comfortable, then hotter and muggier again! Oh well.

I finally started on my first granddaughter's baby quilt today! She's due in less than two weeks!  I have three more to do, but they're not due for a while yet, so I have time. It was a hectic few weeks recently, between getting hit with a bunch of quilt work all of a sudden (praise God!), helping out with the grandsons and then I got sick, it felt good to wake up today knowing I can now work on the grandbaby quilts. Did you find out if the one is a boy or girl yet?  We know two are going to be girls and this week we find out if the third one is a boy or girl, and I guess in three weeks we find out what the grandchild due at the end of the year will be.  Whew!  In between there I am planning our youngest daughter's baby shower to be held in September, and I have a niece's baby shower to go to in three weeks, plus the baptisms, holidays and birthdays will all be in there!  I think once the New Year rolls around there will be a loud sigh of relief heard around the world made by me knowing that we made it through it all! lol.

We had Vikings in high school and they were really nice machines. Pfaffs got popular around here for a time because we had a dealer in town. Bernina is the other popular one. I can't wait for the day that I have a machine just for sewing, one just for embroidering, one just for quilting and a serger. I used to have a serger, but gave it to my seamstress daughter because she works from home and had a need for it more than I did at the time. I used to sew clothes ALL the time, but quilting took over for so long and she needed something. My regular machine has a very nice embroidery unit, but I still want something to set up, just like how you have. I do have a quilting machine, not a longarm, but a midarm. Eventually I want to get a bigger one.
I want to take a trip to NN with my daughter sometime and have money to spend. I know we'd both find plenty of stuff to buy! We have three quilt shops within a 30-45 minute drive of here, which isn't the most convenient thing for me right now.

The fruit quilt is really cute, too. And I love that bunny quilt!
We live in Valders, WI, which is in Manitowoc County, along Lake Michigan. We live ten miles inland. I am familiar with Germantown, but have never been there. It always sounds like someplace I'd love to go. If I remember right, it's kind of in that general area inbetween places like Oostburg and Milwaukee? I haven't been down that way in two years. Did you ever go to Nancy's Notions in Beaver Dam? I want to go there with my daughter someday. I know a lot of people who went and said it wasn't that big of a deal, but we have nothing in town now as far as fabric stores or quilt shops. JoAnns left five years ago, our quilt shop closed last fall and we do have a Hobby Lobby, but they cut their selection way back. There is nothing like quiting fabric!
