I live in Star Valley, Wyoming, over looking the Salt River, nestled in a cozy cabin backed up to Jim Bridger National Forest, with lots of visits from Deer, Moose and Elk and an occasional Red Fox. I have been quilting for over 35 years, and have loved every minute of it. Lots of my quilts are special one of a kind. God has filled my life with an abundance of blessings in family and friends.

Hi, I'm extremely slow on the uptake here, and didn't realize I had a friend request, or that such a thing is possible. Technology is always about five steps ahead of me. Love the quilt in your profile picture! Lindsey :)
I think I love the winter best. It gives me more time inside to quilt. Spring and Fall are busy with wood cutting for the winter. Not that I don't like the exercise, but I'd rather be quilting.
My new dane rescue is a challenge right now. He and my cat don't get along. Bernie (that's his name) was found wandering in a Kansas snowstorm and surviving out of garbage cans. Hopefully not cats, but he sure would like to get real close to find out. Well, what life be without a few challenges?
Sounds like we have something in common aside from quilting. My neighbors are moose, elk, bear, deer, etc. also. We have 64 acres in the forrest backed by national forrest. Don't you love living with the wild?
Nancy, Saw your blog on Monica Swartz's page. I have been talking to Monica since this thing began. We share a lot and she never ceased to amaze me with all she does. She is so interesting and fun to talk to. It sounds so wonderful where you live. My husband would love to be in a place like that. I love quilting and do a lot of hand applique. I have made a few quilts on request but don't really quilt for other people. I kinda like to do my own thing and not what someone else wants me to do. Love to talk to you more and get to know each other. Janet Bouchey
Oh to live in a place named Star Valley ~ the name sounds as warm as the place. How fortunate that you found that lovely flour sack fabric. It has inspired me to hunt up my little flour sack squares that a friend sent to me some time ago. I believe I am going to begin piecing a scrappy pinwheel of them. It will be simple but I do love simple. And your slide show is amazing ~ I'll be coming back often for inspiration!
that is what is so streesful, having to collect fabrics to make something you have an idea for untill you find just what you want, but it sure is something when done.love your quilts, lots of time and beautiful colors in them..
Nancy, I love your quilts, they are beautiful!! I also like your sunflower coasters and placemat.
Boy Wyoming must be awfully cold!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to live in Michigan and that got to cold for me. Live in NC now. Glad to make your acquaintance-let's be friends?!
Just sold the Crown Royal quilt to a woman...think it is for her husband for the holidays. Second year in a row I've sold one for the holidays. Never heard of using ties for a quilt...do you cut them or just sew them together as is? Would be interesting to see.
Hey Nancy...I hand quilt in my lap mostly. I have a Viking Mega Quilter and quilting frame, but have only managed to do random squirley twists and some continuous freehand hearts. I can't imagine doing the intricate quilt work I see on your quilts with a machine...at least not with my little Mega Quilter. Someday---when I win the lotto---maybe I'll be able to get something with a 16 or bigger throat to try that intricate stuff!
