What do you like to read?

I love the Elm Creek series books too! A friend on Facebook told me about them, I can't put them down. So I have the problem of deciding to read or quilt, because there is only so much time in the da…

Share how the economy has affected your quilt lifestyle. Examples: buying fabric, tools, BOM or class enrollments...

I have only been quilting for 4 years. I had never heard of a stash until I started quilting. I had done sewing since childhood, mostly shirts and skirts, my mom taught me to save the scraps for a ra…

How many of us do hand quilting?

I agree Susan, when we make quilts it is like leaving a piece of us behind. And that is important. My husband is more supportive than he use to be about my quilting. At first I think he thought I wou…

What you would NEVER GO WITHOUT!

I agree with those who say hands and fingers. And then just give me a needle, thread and a bag of scraps and I'm happy. My grandmother began quilting late in her life and while I treasure the quilts…

About Me
I have been hand quilting and piecing for almost 4 years. I am a news junkie. Political and Quilting. I have sold hand made quilts to 4 clients working on the 2nd quilt for my first client. Some day I would love to have my own quilting business but it has to make enough money to support me first. So until then I work full time and quilt as much as I can.

Hi Nina: Welcome to the Quilt Frame. We are all hand quilters here. Can you imagine that there are still so many of us out there who actually love to quilt by hand. When I first began searching for folks like myself I really thought I was a dinasour. Boy was I surprised - and thrilled. You will get much from meeting all the folks that come to the quilt frame, some almost daily to add their comments and suggestions. So glad you have decided to join us. And when you get to the point where your hand quilting will support you, let me know. I've been at it for many years and it still does not support me - but I love it anyway. Joyce

Hi Nina. I have been reading that you like to hand quilt. Check out the discussion group on this site called "Around the Quilt Frame, Hand Quilting." There are a whole lot of us who love this way of finishing our quilts.
