About Me
I have been quilting since 1994, I love civil war fabrics. One of my quilting buddies moved away, the other has always lived far away in MA, and I have not done much in the last year--been very busy raising teenagers who are in drama and making play costumes. I have a break this winter and this site will be great to get me motivated! I have 3 kids, they all quilt! My son Nik is 17 and has made a bunch of quilts for project Linus--he started learning when he was 6. My middle daughter, Emma(15), is an avid quilter and also makes Linus quilts, but has branched into designing also. My youngest, Trudye (10), is a social quilter--likes to do it when I do, she is a sweetie. I will post pix of some of their quilts when I get a chance, what fun! After I get done with some work calls this morning...I am cleaning the quilting studio and getting started!
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, hand quilting, machine quilting, general sewing
My pets are awesome!
Sally (mutt dog) and Rex (huge mutant beagle dog)

Hello all! Need Motivation!

Posted on January 6, 2009 at 12:52pm 1 Comment

I am new (as of this morning)! I need to get motivated, it's been a while since I have had the time to sit and quilt. I thought I would get to do it after working this morning...but then my kids got sent home early from school! UGH! Anyway, after I finish making dinner, maybe I'll get upstairs and at least get set up for tomorrow! Progress report tomorrow! :-)

I love your quilts, I'm partical to the ones with the steps -- I think some call it that. Makes an X in the pattern, your flag is beautiful. Did you EQ those 2 quilts with all the different stars and prarie like designs?
I'm wondering if you would consider putting up that picture of your flag on my Embroidery Yahoo Group somewhere under other projects for everyone to see. You can load your picture and write what ever you desire if your willing. Here is my link. Thank you in advance just in case you say yes. While its an embroidery group, it is Dear Jane related so everyone will love seeing it.

I have the cathedral window quilt on my "to-do" list, but you know how that goes... There are LOT of quilts on that list! I've been working on a little tote this evening. Will see how it goes. I don't think the pattern is written as well as the last one I made. There are fewer pictures, which might make it more challenging for me. And I'm making a few adjustments, so hopefully I don't cause myself problems.

Enjoy your day tomorrow! PQ

Thanks for visiting my page. I just stopped by to look through your quilts. They are all wonderful. I love the traditional quilts and you have so many nice ones!

This is a fun web site. Everyone is very encouraging and I always enjoy looking through the quilts. It's like going to a quilt show in one's pajamas without leaving home! AND we aren't tempted to touch. (That's the hardest part of quilt shows for me - the "no touch" rule.) :0)

I have a son in the school play this year. I don't think our school is actually big enough to call it "drama." heh heh He is helping the tech crew tonight. It's been raining most of the day, but apparently he isn't too worried about getting home on muddy roads.

Nice meeting you! Hope your week is off to a great start. PQ

I located my pattern for the Kansas State Stadium Throw. It's a 50 x 64" quilt finished. There is a website where you can find the pattern as well as some other KState patterns http://www.prairiepieces.com/id28.html
I left the football items off my daughter's quilt and personalized it to honor her field of study. It is not a difficult quilt to make. Good luck.

Thanks for sharing your flag idea. The Kansas State University quilt does have a pattern. I'll look it up and give you the info later.
