Fabric Bowls.....

Posted on July 6, 2009 at 10:50pm 4 Comments

Well it has happened. I have discovered the wonderful world of making fabric bowls. Because the last month has been so hectic I wanted something I could make quickly and finish all in one setting! So there it is...I love these cute bowls. I posted one picture and also made one for Xmas as well. I can see many Xmas gifts springing forward in my mind here!! They are so easy and the creativity you can have is endless. I also am trying some Fabric boxes...a treasure chest type..a little harder but… Continue

WOW...seems like forever since...

It seems like it's been forever since I wrote or even have been able to visit this site!! I think I am having withdrawls. This time of year is grueling with all the graduations, weddings and everyday life moving into the summer months. But in good old AZ it has decided to get unbarably HOT and now I can get under the A/C and quilt. I am still working on my cathedral quilt which is going well. I am also finishing a baby quilt for a niece, an I Spy quilt for my son and the much promised Purple… Continue

Oh No another project in the works....................

OK so some time ago I watched a video on You Tube about wholecloth quilts. Then I saw a video on Kayewood TV from Sulky about Crayon Quilts. These quilts are awesome and so much fun to make. I have a friend expecting a baby soon and am making her one of these quilts!! You use sandpaper and color the pieces with crayons and then iron it on your fabric and then outline with crayon or thread! Will post pictures when I get the top done!! This is way too much fun...and a great project to make with… Continue

I am in Awe.......

I was just looking at all the posts on the main page and the groups that I have joined and then all the pictures. I started at about 4pm and my husband came in at 6pm and said "Could you maybe drag yourself away for some dinner?"

I hadn't even made a dent in looking at all the wonderful, beautiful things that have been shared on here. But more than that, I relaized what amazing things I have seen and don't recall any duplicates!! That is just amazing to me! Just goes to show what talented… Continue

Just added a couple photos....

Posted on June 5, 2009 at 9:54am 3 Comments

I just added a couple photos of a baby quilt that I am using as a guinea pig for free motion quilting. I have a serious deficiency when it comes to easy I think! I traced a friends baby hands and feet and then used them as a pattern for this quilt. I then added hearts and lines in between. I couldn't possibly start with something easy like stippling!! HAHA It looks OK from a distance but up close well that's a different story! But Jody is only a year old and won't notice!

I also added a… Continue

Pam, thanks for your help on the rat tail cord. I made a couple of the needle books today and am enclosing one in a Christmas card for a friend. Your work is beautiful. And after only 4 years! Wow! Well, I've been on the computer way too long already this evening. I am so impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Pam I know it has been some time since you told me about the table cloth for showing my blocks as I make them. Bought one and it works GREAT. I can now place my blocks, rearrange them..I am sooo excited to see them up on my wall instead of laying them on my bed or floor and then having to put them away each time. I am working on Sylvia's Bridal Sampler 140 blocks..this really is a BIG help to me. Thanks Pam

Pam, Thanks for inquiring about my pincushion pattern. To answer your questions, YES, you can purchase the pattern from me. You can do it any number of ways, 1. go to my website, www.sewsimplepatterns.com, click on wallhangers/misc and order it thru paypal, 2. call me with your mailing info and charge card info, 3. mail me a check for $10.00 with mailing info and I'll send you the pattern, OR 4. Ask your local quilt shop to place a wholesale order from me and you can purchase the pattern from them when they get it. There are several templates in the pattern so you can make any combination of leaves and petals. Just let me know which way is more comfortable to you and will get you the pattern ASAP. I mail the same day (except Sunday) so you won't have any delay in getting it. Again, thanks for your interest. My pattern sold out at Spring Market this year and I have interest from 2 distrubutor on the pincushion so hopefully you will see it out there soon. happy quilting deb

Hi Pam...I enjoyed taking a stroll thru your pics. Nice work! Can I ask you where you got the patterns/directions for your pin cushions? Especially the chicken one? I've been having this mad obsession with pin cushions for awhile now. I've been searching the web for patterns & the chicken one is new to me. I hope to make some here & there to give to friends.

Hi Pam,--Love the cathedral quilt- It looks too hard to be easy though. The blues vs white are striking. Good job!--Barb S

Hi Pam,
All of your photos are very inspiring. I am especially in love with your quilt with the hearts on it. I wonder if you would mind telling me a little more about how you made it. Do you quilt on the machine or by hand? Are the circles on top of the hearts fabric or embroidery?
Your pups are cute!
