Hi Pat,

Sorry to hear that you are having an op, but think positive and it will be for the best in the long run, you will be able to see with much more comfort to do all the things you want to do, especially sewing.  You are in my thoughts and prayers during this tense time.

Hi Pat,  I just got my schedule for working Quilt Festival.  I will work mornings on Thusday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10-25-12 through 10-28-12, from 9am to

2-3 pm.  I am off the 29th, 30th, 1nd 31st, then work the rest of Festival in the mornings from 11-1-12 through 11-4-12.

I don't know if you are taking classes, tours, etc. or what time you will be arriving, but I am sure we will have plenty of time for visiting.  Can't wait!  Carol

Hi Pat,  Thanks for letting me know the book has arrived and of course have a peek and a copy too (smile)  I agree the ceremonies went on a long time, and at times (shame to admit) a little boring, but on the whole fantastic - we will be off on Tuesday and will have the machine with us, so may see you online - take care and I am sure you are starting to revv up for your hols too.   ttfn Marianne

Thank you for the nice comment about my quilt.  I can't remember the name but it's a Thimbleberries pattern.  I found it in one of my quilting magazines and it's been so many years that I'll have to look through them to find it for you.  I now have that poor quilt sandwiched together and am marking it.  It will be a milestone in my life when I get it done.  Have a good day and happy quilting.................

Hello Pat, how lovely to see someone on this site who is from the UK - I am in North Yorkshire - there are some wonderfully accomplished women on this site and all are very helpful too - hav e you been to Harrogate quilt show?

Hi Pat

thanks for your message. I live at Malton near York and am relatively new to patchwork and quilting, but am quite addicted.

Look forward to making lots of friends on line

Thanks for the compliment! I sort of designed the quilt. The fabrics - 4 of them anyway - were in a challenge kit for our local quilt festival several years back. The Mariner's Compass block is from Judy Mathieson's book, "Mariner's Compass Quilts: Setting a New Course." One of the challenge fabrics was the large packed floral. I used it as is for the filling on the Celtic applique and put fusible on the back of it & fussy cut flowers out. The "rain drops" are centers of daffodils. There is a black bugle bead at the end of every point of the compass, but you can't see them in the photo - only 1 reflection! So, yes I designed it, sort of!
