My grandmother taught me to quilt when I was a child and I hated it. After my children married there was no one left to make them the quilts I loved and enjoyed, so I took up the art again and have not stopped. Quilting is what keeps me sane in my busy life.
I also enjoy cross stitching and use old post cards for ideas when designing patterns.

I like to design my own dresses for my daughter, and my sons like to have matching shorts...they get jealous of all the sewing that I do for their sister!!!
Yes, I would say that I'm more "creative" as well! I like to take a pattern that i have found and tweak it a bit to make it more "JaiCi-fied"...I love color and can't help adding it to everything I work on!
I do have to add that you've inspired me a bit to work more on my piecing quilt. I always have 4 or more quilts in progress, so my hand-sewing gets put in the background...but I have found myself going to bed a few minutes earlier each night so I can sew JUST a bit...
Thank you for the nice comments regarding my quilt patterns. I'm so glad you have enjoyed making them. I would be happy to correspond with your student. You can find a lot of information, of course, on the Chamber of Commerce website. I live quite a ways from Seattle so I'm not sure how much help I would be. Also, I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and will be gone from the office for several weeks. If your student would like, he/she can contact me through this site which I will check periodically while I am gone. What country is your student from?
Hi Patricia, I haven't been on this website for along time also. Hope all is well with you. It is really hot here but I suppose it is in Oklahoma too! I love the pictures of your quilts, I particularly like the green and pink.
Hope you had a lovely birthday!
I'm glad you enjoyed the pics of my grand kids. The little girl and boy in their Halloween costumes are not my grandkids, they are my friends kids in Indiana. My oldest grandchild is Ashley wearing the gown I made her last year and Keila is wearing the white dress I made her, sitting on the piano bench. My youngest three are pictured together. I have two more grand sons. I'm sorry to hear you had to retire due to an illness but I hope you are enjoying retirement as much as I am. I retired 3 years ago and have loved every minute of it. I hope to catch you on chat some day. Have a great evening.
Your 175 doggie is big!!!! Bernie aka Goofy only weighed in at 107 pounds when we rescued him (for his size, we would have expected 135-140). We are hoping he puts on a few pounds now that he has his forever home. Nice to know others who love to rescue. And such good news your doggie has made nine years and going strong.
Hi Patricia! So nice to see a message from you! I did not go to OSU, but my husband did. I worked at Stillwater National Bank. He just finished his PhD in Dec of 2008 and then we moved to Nebr for a year while he trained for his current position. He manages the Monsanto Agronomy Center in Halstead....and I know he has been to the John Deere dealer in Hutch a few times already! ;0) I do not work other than doing some occassional mowing at home and the farm there in Halstead....so I am free to quilt quite a bit finally after working most of my life away lol Sorry to hear you are suffering with Myasthenia Gravis. I have to confess I have no idea what that is and what the symptoms are....I guess I will have to google it! ;0) God Bless you....you sound like a wonderful person!
Thank you for the nice compliments on my work. I really enjoy it and can't seem to get enough of fabrics though my DH begs to differ on that! hee hee
Thanks for the comment, i loved it! I love my paper piecing...it takes forever, but it keeps me busy for sure! I usually work on it while my kids are in baths and when I am trying to AVOID folding my laundry :) :) :)
Can't wait to see your when you're all finished :)
I used to live in Oklahoma City when I was little, and I loved it :)
