Your DWR sounds wonderful!  They definitely not under the "quick and easy" quilt category, but hopefully we'll both finish ours.  :D

PPS:  I've been happily distracted by the slide show of your beautiful quilts!

Hi Patricia!  Thanks for commenting on the DWR photo.  It is coming along slowly, but this is definitely the fun part.

PS:  Do you have relatives in Nebraska?  We had long-time neighbors whose last name was Dempsey.  (Maybe it is more of a common surname that what I think.)

Photos is on my to do list but I have to wait until it cools off a bit.  I'm not a good photographer and find that pictures taken out of doors are better.

The weather people say the heat wave should break in a couple of days.  Getting back to highs in the 80's will be great.

Maybe I can get the embroidery on the hearts finished by then.

I only smocked one baby dress for my daughter.  I like the jumpers you make because they will fit longer.  By the time I finished the dress, my daughter had almost outgrown it.  It's funny to think of her in that baby dress.  We just got back from her taking me for my 6-month check-up.  I had reason to ask her how long she has been married.  She said almost 22 years!  No wonder I just got a welcome to Medicare card in the mail.

I am embroidering on a quilt right now for a grandniece.  It is covered in appliqued pairs which are in pairs of a large and small one.  I felt that I should include Gal. 5:22 on the quilt.  I embroidered the Fruits of the Spirit on hearts in the border.  For the hearts in the quilt I am embroidering the initials for her family sort of like a family tree.  I'm also doing some outline embroidery on the hearts without initials.  I find the embroidery very relaxing.

I finished all the blocks of redwork embroidery for a quilt for my GD but haven't put it together yet.  I think I'm a process quilter and not a product quilter.  I like to try techniques but don't seem to finish the quilts.  I guess I should be in a UFO group. Is there a Quilter's Anonymous?  I think I need it.

We are having a heatwave now but what we are experiencing is probably normal weather for you.  It does give me an excuse to stay in and work on something.

Blessings to you and yours.

Lovely work.  Your use of embroidery is adorable.  I make a lot of children's quilts for grandchildren and grandnieces and nephews.  I'm working on two now.  Do you hand embroider?

It's good your "helper" sleeps under the quilt frame.  My cats all saw the quilt in the quilt frame as a cat hammock.

Love your sewing studio.

Thank you for the comment on my Blue Columbine.  It's the only free motion quilting I've done. - other attempts not so successful.  Looks like you have this free motion mastered!!  Your quilts are beautiful.

Thanks for the nice comment on my Fiesta Garden Wallhanging, Patricia! I really like the machine applique. Needleturn is beautiful but, my eyes have trouble focusing on a lot of handwork after sitting in front of a computer all day!

Pat, thank you for your comments on the two quilts I designed, "Springtime at the Cabin" and "Flower Chain."  Someday I actually hope to make "Flower Chain" for myself.

The quilting on your quilts is exquisite.  Do you quilt them yourself?  And if you do, do you use a long-arm or your domestic machine?

Love your "Heart and Roses" hexagon quilt.
