I never thought I would love quilting because when I was younger I hated sewing! But after seeing some of the beautiful quilts a friend made, she got me started and I was instantly hooked.
A little bit about me, I work from home as a medical transcriptionist. I love not having to venture out on those nasty winter in Iowa roads. When not working, my other hobbies include pampering my three spoiled cats, reading, watching movies, and painting ceramics. I used to do counted cross stitch, but once I got into quilting, that sort of went by the wayside.

My pets are awesome!
Two cats - Cheyenne- my 7-year-old tortishell, and Noelle, my patched tabby who is now 4 yeaers old. I lost Patches, my 19-yeare-old Calico in March. She has gone onto the Rainbow Bridge, but is still missed very much.
Thanks, Patricia! He was a good one. He had been losing weight and not acting the same for several months, so we thought he was about ready to go. I did have a great birthday!
Hoppy quilting!
Patricia, My friend at work named Big Boy Tripod! Isn't that funny how warped minds work? I changed my pic because Big Boy went to the big Tripod in the sky yesterday. He was old, and very sick. We expected him to go, at least it wasn't on my birthday!
Patricia, Thanks for the comment on the postage stamp quilt. I didn't really have a pattern. A friend of mine was making one and I just copied her, with some changes. Basically, you cut 1-1/2 X 3-1/2 inche strips of white (or other light color) and the same size of the colored fabrics. You then sew those together, alternating, into sets of 8. After pressing all seams one direction, you cut that strip set into 2 - 1-1/2" wide strips. When you get a bunch of those strips done, you join them, end to end. The original quilt was supposed to be 80 X 90 (or 7,200 squares). Mine isn't that big - more like 60 X 72.
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you,Happy birthday dear Patricia. And you thought I couldn't sing! Ok...It was opera! But you didn't need you ears much, now did you. Sorry about scareing the kitties! I'll give them catnip to help. Hope you day is great! Bren

Hi Patricia,
I just found out last week that the Pickle Barrel has closed. There is apparently a rib place there now..although it does have pickle chips on the menu. We haven't tried it out yet.
