Those cherry perserves sound some good too.

Patsy, they are a hot spicy. We eat them with East Indian food that DH makes. He was taught from a lab technician who used to work in the Cochrane Hospital. I think he had met him at the church one time and since he was still single got invited for meals. We love the hot curried food. The Mango pickles are a hot curried pickled mango. They are made in India.

Yes it is a bit expensive Patsy. Want to get some Bedekar Mango Pickles too but cannot find a retailer in Canada. They use to carry them in Thunder Bay at the bulk spice place but it changed hands and they are not bringing anymore in. I am going to try a couple of grocery stores when I go up with my girlfriend next week. I have not dyed a lot of reed, Patsy but what I have died seems to have kept it's colour.

Patsy, I ordered my reed from I think it was V.Reed but I am not sure. It has been a long time since we ordered the last. It was somewhere in the states but the shipping and duty did us in. It was so expensive that the kits that were cheap ended up being really expensive. I think one of the girls who was doing baskets with us, found a place in southern Ontario.

Patsy, no I do not use a thimble underneath. I like, you, like to be able to feel the needle coming through. Yes, I did make my baskets. The quilting girls decided they needed a weekend of basket weaving. We had a girl come from Thunder Bay and give us a weekend and she supplied the kits and all - that is the one my pup was in. Then we decided we would like to do some more so I ordered whatever kits the girls wanted and we did baskets for another weekend. Then we did it one more time and we just ordered the reeds seperately and we did our own patterns. We had the basics then and could go on our own. It was great. Thanks for the complements.

Patsy - my purse is the first picture in my slide show. I also figured out how to get it to attach correctly to the comments in Totally Totes. At first all I could get was a very long distorted picture but it's OK now.

Patsy, I don't know much about longarms - except it would be wonderful to have one! Good luck on your search.
Thanks for the comments on my duck quilt. I think the kids will be happy with it - mismatched triangles and all.

Thanks Patsy - Duck Puddles certainly came out better than I expected! It's got its share of imperfections but at least they look like ducks!

I saw your question. A ladder stitch is a slipstitch

The baby in the slide show is my grand babies. The oldest one is Lily and the other one is just a few months old, that is Zoey. They belong to my son that lives in CA. I visited with them in late May.
