My bow tie quilt made from "The Ladies" quilt block exchange. Five of us each made blocks for each other and then we all put our quilts together. We all picked our background colors (mine was white on white) and told what fabrics we wanted. I wanted mine to be scrappy with a vintage layout and look and quilted it with a very simple design. I didn't like the flapping 3-D centers so I quilted the edges with a tiny zip zag to hold them down. I found a scrap of light blue fabric with tiny…

I have been working on several memory quilts and catching up on some quilts that have been on my bucket list for quite some time now. I finished putting together my Tee Time golf quilt. I had so much fun designing, piecing, appliqueing and free motion quilting this one. It is one of my favorites and was a lot of fun to work on something so whimsical. I am not a golfer and I don't know any female who does, so I am going to see about putting this one up for sale. I am enjoying it while it…

I am used to using YLI and some OMNI threads. I am wondering if many of you have used the Essential Pro Polyester thread for longarming, and if so, how you like it. I am considering purchasing several colors. Thanks!

I haven't posted since July. It has been a crazy time around here. I have connected with a grade school friend on Facebook and she asked me to make memory quilts from her mothers clothing. It had been a year since her mother's passing and she was ready to make family memory quilts. I started off with 4 baby quilts, then 7 lap quilts (KU, KSU and Chiefs themes were three she wanted for sure). I am glad I made them for her even if she cried when she saw them. She will have such wonderful…

I drive a silver Honda Element which we all call "Elly". I lost the small quilt I usually carried in my vehicle for my grandkids so when I saw this elephant fabric I knew what I had to do. I made an "Elly" quilt to keep in the truck in case the grandkids get cold. I quilted my first real feathers on the quilt. I know where the mistakes are but I won't tell anyone! LOL …

Hearing quilt and bus trips in same sentence just sets off the fabric glands in my body, wanting to hop bus and head USA-North Dakota for few days.
Since, passport and my financial situation changed not able to spend 2nights and shopping frenzy as I did years ago.
Hi Paula,
I too have an HQ16 that I dearly love, but have had issues with the table which included the tracks. I was so glad to see your hubby's solution to the problem, and would have never thought of that. If you could email me a photo of your tracks I would appreciate seeing how he did it. My email is cottonwoodquilter@gmail.com
thanks in advance!
I was doing a search for that pattern....is it the scrappy squares with stars all around the outside? If so, that looks like a nice quilt. It looks like a good way to use up some stash/FQs! If you want to do a shop hop, don't spend money on a bus...we can go together and enjoy it more....or at least that's my thought. We can look at it when it gets closer to that time.
Good Morning Paula, I came up with the table runner because I wanted to teach the 10 min. block at guild. Since it only required 3 blocks they had a better chance of finishing it. They fell in love with the block and their project.
Hi Paula, I just let a message on your main page post. I enjoyed reading your profile. I share your love of fabric, much to my husband's dismay. :)
I'd love to have a long-arm, but can't justify the cost since I don't necessarily want to make it a business. Space is also an issue. I have been looking into the mid-arm machines, though. I might be able to make that work. When I think of the many tops I have waiting to be quilted, I sure think it would be nice to have my own machine.
I wanted to take that tour of shops, but we had just returned from vacation and I just did not have the energy to do it. Plus it's not much fun to go by yourself....soooooo.....next time you can drive down here and we can go together! I would be happy to drive! Plus when you go without a bus load, you can spend more time shopping if you want to....or leave sooner than they do if you want to! I got some of the specially designed fabric from last year.....will do my own sampler sometime with that. What pattern did you get for your bed quilt? What colors/fabrics are you interested in for that? I have never been to Severy....but I love a couple of the ones in Wichita....especially Hen Feathers and Grandma's Calico Cupboard.
Yeah, that fabric shop is still in the outlet mall....but I like her shop downtown much better. I love the new second saturday BOM we started! Let me know when you come down!
Awww thank you very much for the nice compliments Paula! I see you are from Topeka! Do you ever get down here to Newton or Wichita area? I would love to meet you in person sometime....lunch or something?
Thank you for the comments on my Old Glory quilt.
Tina
Paula - thanks for the compliment on my feather quilting. I took the feather bootcamp on line class on the MQR site. It was a great class.
