About Me
63 year old grandmother of four grandchildren who wants to get started to quilt--especially as I live on the outskirts of the Amish district in Buchanan County. I want to leave something to my children that can be handed down through the future generations. My companion and I raise miniature horses. We have three at the present but hopefully we will have five by the end of May as both of our mares are with foals.

Playful foals

Came home from going to dinner and our stud, Patches, was at the yard gate waiting for his evening treat. Came in and got a handful of carrot treats. While he was eating from my hands, I was watching both Stormy and Patsy playing in the driveway. He is up on her and then she is rearing up at him and then they off chasing each other. It's a Girl

Susan, our miniature mare, just gave us a fily colt at 9:45 pm/ She looks like she is going to a red color like her mom with four white legs. Haven't decided on a name yet--there is so many possiblities for girls names. Debating on whether to call her either Patsy or Sunday . Any suggestions from any of you. Will post pictures as soon as we can get them download from the cell phone.

My miniature horses

The ones of you who are fond of miniature horses I have posted a video taken last summer of our three miniature horses on my page.

Friday afternoon: I have also added a video that we took from the buggy behind out stud, Patches. Come join us on a ride around the River Road from our home.

Mississippi Sunrise Mystery Quilt

Have any of you done the Mississippi sunrise mystery quilt whose pattern was offered on the website by yellow bird art--six different blocks offered (1 block for every two months) and the different blocks are repeated except for the center one. I have downloaded the pattern and instructions but have not found fabric for it yet. Don't know if it is still available on the website but here is the link:
