I am new to quilting but have been sewing for nearly 40 years. I at the very enthusiastic stage of looking for as many ideas as possible. However, I am trying to restrain myself from having too many projects and UFO's.....I am also an avid crocheter. My husband and I have two married daughters and and are blessed with a granddaughter and grandson. We are excitedly waiting for another grandson in June! My granddaughter is interested in quilting and attended a quilt camp during Christmas break. She had a great time and has a nice quilt she made for her little brother.

I have posted two photos of my Christmas table topper. I purchase the pattern and fabric from Log Cabin Dry Goods and Quilt Shop. I am planning other color schemes in my head for gifts. I am currently working on my pink ribbon quilt. I have had the fabric a while, knowing that eventually I would start quilting as a hobby once I finished my college degree. The quilt has pinwheels and I am learning that opposites do make a difference as I happliy remove stitches and sew the seams on the other side… Continue

Hi PinkGranny, just checking your photos and do love your Xmas table topper. Wished I would have had time to see you when we were in Cd'A last week. Time was to short, but glad that we came home when we did. The pass was worse the next day. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hi....I love your table topper. It looks like it could be pot holders until you see that it is all in one piece. That's so cool that your grandaughter like to quilt and has made a quilt already. My grandaughter made a few pot holders for Xmas gifts, but she's not all that into it. Maybe later she'll be. I put my sewing machine away today, because I'll be so busy tomorrow and Mon. that I won't have a chance to sew. Then on Wed., I'll be back sewing, with new knowledge on motion quilting. I just about have the top done on my son's lap quilt. Just 4 more blocks to do. Then I'll put the batting and back on and hopefully be able to free motion quilt it. Have a good evening. Sharon
Hi. Well another day starting with 1" of snow. There is now some blue sky with the darker clouds. I've been working on my lap quilt for my son. I have 2 rows completed now. It has 32 triangles per block. I didn't realize just how much you many seams you have to meet. Well, it's going to be a beautiful quilt. Have a good day.

I got almost all my patterns from The Quilters Cache-Marcia Hohn's free patterns. Just one block, but easy to figure out how much material you will need for the size quilt you want to make. Another site is www.ConnectingThreads.com. I'm making a lapthrow using pattern Fancy Strips. We travel in our motorhome from June to mid Oct., taking our 13 yr. old grandaughter with us for 3-5 weeks. We are usually in Cd'A about the middle of June, just after school gets out here.

HI Pinkgranny, I'm a grandma and have only 2 grandchildren. I started quilting about 3 years ago and am more or less self taught. I have quilter friends whose brains I picked. I machine quilt. I grew up in Hayden, ID and graduated from Cd'A. I live in Woodinville, WA and am over there every summer visiting friends and relatives for about 2 weeks. I would love to trade ideas with you.
