Floor Quilt

Good Afternoon Everyone!! I have been shopping for a rug to put in my office and haven't had any luck, so I thought I might make a floor quilt to go in there. Has anyone made one before? Any suggestions? How to get started, etc...Thanks!! Gina

Deelybob thread cone adapter

Has anyone used this item and do you like it? I'm looking for something to keep the bigger spools of thread from wiggling on the thread spindle. Any suggestions or is the deelybob my best bet? Thanks, have a great day and happy quilting.

Cabinet knobs and Drawer pulls

Good Morning Everyone - Hey we are in the middle of a remodel and I am trying to find drawer pulls and cabinet knobs for my new laundry room and sewing room (I mean studio). They are complete seperate rooms. I want something fun and I'm having trouble finding anything. I've tried local hardware stores, but that's a joke. I've tried a few websites with no luck. Any help would be great! Thanks, and have a great day. Happy Quilting. Gina

Lost in Blog Lingo

Good Morning Everyone - In the event I sound silly, I'm going to apologize up front. This is one of the first on-line communities that I belong to and I love it. The only thing is sometimes I get lost in the lingo, the abbreviated words. Some of them I can figure out and some I can't. Can anyone offer some tutoring? I know that DH means Dear or Darling or Da-- Husband, but as far as the rest I'm in the dark. Thanks and Happy Quilting. Gina

The Maple leaf table runner is a tessellation. I drafted out the block and colored it in then pieced it together. Tessellations are fun, even though I usually wind up making them one block at a time (or row as in this case) so I can determine the placement of color as I go.

There are patterns out there, but that was just a simple 6.5" squares. Wrong sides together, sew a 1/2" seam. Raw edges to the flannel side. then clip each seam every 1/2 inch to get the rag effect. I always find that after the first washing, I find I have sometimes clipped too far and have to go back and resew some seams. There is no need for batting with the denim. With the flannel and minke I found that I didn't need any batting either. If you were just to use flannel you would cut a 6" square of batting and the quilt each square with and X and sew the squares together. I hope I haven't confused you. LOL
