About Me
As of June 30, 2009 I am unemployed, laid off, like so many others. So, I will spend this summer job hunting. The large corporation that I was working for has relocated the work I was doing to Norfolk; that left me and eight others without jobs. Thank goodness I alway have my quilting and fabric fun. I have been sewing since childhood and come from a long line of seamstresses on both sides of a big family. I am not married, my immediate family is one adult son who is a software developer and helps me with all the new techie stuff.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, machine quilting, crazy quilting, general sewing
My Pets
No pets just now.

A Better November

Dear QWU friends, thank you for improving what is usually a low point in my year, the month of November. My sweet daughter, Jennifer, was born Nov. 9, 1970 & passed from this life on Nov. 28 1985. She suffered a cerebral hemorage so was not ill before her death. That day was also Thanksgiving day. So as you can imagine every year since 1985 the month of November is "difficult". Jennifer was spunky, petite & precocious. She attended a school for gifted children until the last 2 yrs when s… Continue

Tired & Goofy

I was super tired last night after all day at the quilt festival. I wanted to post photos of the CT friends I met at the show and I got it half right. Here's my pic of Paula and let me say she is too cute and definitely looks way too young to have a 20 yr. old son that's contemplating marriage.

Not sure wehn I'll get to it, but I have to make copies of the patterns first. There is only one in the magazine and you need several, then some need to be reversed. When I started it years ago I was so excited, but there are a LOT of tiny pieces, and those caused a lot of frustration for me, but I feel ready for the challenge now and wish I hadn't gotten rid of that issue. Thanks again!!

The magazine arrived today, your 'Christmas gif' to me! Thank you! That was so fast, I was so surprised to see it in today's mail already. Thank you, you're so sweet.
Blessings to you! Trudy

Trevi - I understand your feelings about grandbabies. Our DD and SiL tried for over 10 years to no avail. Now our youngest is the one having a baby. I hope your day will come for you, too. I've been enjoying my great nieces in the mean time. God knows the perfect time for everything.

I did not get see anyone else from "Quilt with Us". I am sorry I did not get to meet you, but maybe there will be another opportunity soon...have a great day! Catherine

Trevi, Thank you for the nice comments on the "John's Fractions" quilt. I used to live south of Houston, hopefully it's cooled off there and the musquitos aren't bad.
