Renae,,You live about an hour and 1/2 from me,,,Carey? Yup we live in Warrenton, up north a ways...We may need to be meeting each other here someday,,DH is going to get his new job soon, right after Easter,,,so we will be able to go traveling and go to meet people and get to see this new state of ours...I'm glad someone lives near me..Good to have you as a friend, Joanna
Thank you Renae for the nice comments on my little blocks. They are fun but a bit of a challenge to make. I am sure learning the importance of accurate seam allowances while I make the blocks for the quilt they will be part of.
Hope you are having a pleasant day.
Hi again. i just wanted to let you know, if you didn't find it already on the TQS site, you can click on show and tell and then on BOM only and see all the quilts being done with that pattern. We all post what we complete each month - it's amazing to see all the color variations. Also, if you go to forum and then scroll down to BOM, you'll find all kinds of comments and helpful hints about doing the BOM. Have fun!
I'm glad you like the site. I've had lots of fun with the BOM - am actually making two. I'm working on finishing this month's work on the 2nd one and will then post it also. If you go to member blogs and look for "Wanda" she has some photos of the BOM's starting in Jan. They apparently had the at the Houston show and will be on the TQS site soon.
Christine, thanks for all your compliments on my quilts. if you decide to do a storm at sea quilt, there is a wondeful book full of good ideas and helpful hints. It is "A New Light on Storm at Sea Quilts" by Wendy Mathson. In the book she gives resources for templates that work very well also.
The BOM is from "The Quilt Show". Just go to their web site and click on BOM for info. you do have to sign up to be a member to be to get the directions and patterns but they are all still available. Also, there will be another BOM on their site starting in Jan - actually 2 of them - one pieced and one applique.
How terrifying for you and your family!!! I remember that year, the total devastation!! Sorry if I brought up bad memories!! Madrid has never been hit by a tornado, they are usually all around us, but always(knock on wood) seem to miss us!
