Discovered the trick of getting your fabric bins organized...

I discovered the trick of completing the daunting task of organizing fabric bins and cutting left over fabric into useable sizes is as simple as don't quilt for awhile. Laugh, all of my fabric is packed up in boxes, and I have been going through some serious quilting withdrawals. I went through my fabric bins, and started organizing them. i also cut left over fabric into 2 inch or 4 inch squares depending on the amount of fabric left. I am actually enjoying this. Normally I would detest it, I wo… Continue

Another Sad Day

Today I sold my digital piano. It is so hard looking at the empty wall, since music was my life, and my sanctuary before quilting. I would sit there for hours just playing, making up songs.
It should be a happy feeling that it was sold, but I had to let it go $250.00 dollars less than what it is worth, and what I paid for it, just to get money for the move. It makes me sick knowing that people are benefiting and coming out ahead from my messed up life. Just once I wish I had a break. I know it s… Continue

Patterns

I have a question for all of you..
When you have a pattern, do you change the fabrics, or is it hard for you to use something different than the exact fabric the pattern calls for?
Renee

Do you prefer a kit or a pattern?

Wow! I can't tell you how great it was to see your name in my email this morning. I have been thinking of you a lot and wondering what's happening in your world. When you get time, I would love to hear from you and know if you have moved, did your house sell, how is your daughter and Jim doing and how YOU are doing. take care

Hi Renee,
I was so surprised to hear from you this morning! I was thinking about you a lot the last several days because I knew you were in the middle of the move and all. I'm so glad you wrote! I hope everything is going smoothly with the transition and all! I wanted to send a note to your personal email, but wasn't too sure that was still working, let me know.
Everything is fine here. We started advertising the house days ago and during the process of selling off all of that stuff, we had many people come through the business building, and some the house, and got many positive compliments, which meant a lot, because the house isn't complete. We had to stop in it about 5 years ago because of all of the family stuff that started happening (weddings, graduations, sick parents, dying parents, etc....) and then when the land deal fell through we decided to clean up and move instead of finish the house. Anyway, just finishing up stuff around here and doing what we can while we wait. Quilt jobs have been slow again. Other than that, the whole family has been healthy and doing well. I can't wait to hear from you, but I understand it will take time. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I'll drop a line every so often until you can write! Trudy

Renee, I was just thinking about you last evening and wondering how all of your "transitions" were coming along. Yes, the asthma is what put me in a risk group and why the Doctor made sure I received the H1N1 shot. That and I am also the care provider for DH (after his stroke). He received his when at the cancer center a couple of weeks ago. Do not put off getting the shot if you have the opportunity.
Do let me know how things are going.

I was checking out your blog, with the feather stitching and the string look of the deer, etc, just awesome stuff. do you sell the deer one?? like a small wallhanging or potholder size? or could you make me one in trade for the fabrics and quilt tops sending to you?
also have a quilt top may be sending and maybe some more items like baby quilt tops do not have anywhere to go with.

Thank you---and i don't think you were rambling---you're right---it so hard to help our faithful friends when they can't tell us where it hurts or why---I wasn't crazy taking her to the vet but she wouldn't walk and I could tell she was in pain---24 hr later she is pretty much back to normal---hope your little one feels better soon---

I love little kids costumes too. We had fun seeing them all come and trick or treat! Tyler is getting big - I told my husband the other day that I think someone came in the night and took my baby and left a little boy! I love your sewing machine kitty pictures - they are ADORABLE!
