Beach

Posted on July 28, 2009 at 5:00pm 1 Comment

I took the kids to the beach today. I've been off from work for over a week and have to go back in tomorrow. I was so glad I decided to spend the last day of my vacation at the beach. The sun was shining and the water was beautiful. I found it so invigorating. I had been working on a new quilt top but took the day off today. So, if you get the chance, enjoy yourself in the sun and take a break from life's rat race!! Summer will soon be over. It goes by so fast!

Happy 4th of July!

Posted on July 4, 2009 at 6:59am 0 Comments

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July. We're having a small cookout. My parents will be coming. I'm so happy that it's actually sunny out. Also glad I'm home today since I work most Saturdays. I just finished a quilt top yesterday but I hope to get in a little handquilting sometime today. I was even thinking of bringing it outside.
Our town is not having fireworks tonight but we might try going to a neighboring town. I hope everyone enjoys their day!

Happy Valentine's Day

The day is almost over but hope everyone had a great day. My son's birthday is today so it wasn't a very romantic holiday but it was fun having his friends over for pizza. He was the best Valentine's Day gift I ever got. Hope everyone got to their quilting today. I had to work so I didn't do much but there's always tomorrow! Good night!

Happy New Year!

Posted on December 31, 2008 at 7:30am 2 Comments

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. I do hope to get some quilting done at some point today. It's snowing here but I have to take my daughter to her friend's house. Let's hope the roads aren't too bad. We plan on staying in tonight and eating! Not too exciting but fine with us. I think this whole website is such a great idea! I'm having fun looking at everything it has to offer. Anyone else out there from Massachusetts? Happy New Year!!

Hi Rosemary, Yes, I do love the beach. When we lived in Oregon we were just 2 hours or less from the coast. I had the privilege of going down twice a year for about 10 years with a group of girlfriends. We'd rent a house overlooking the beach/ocean, for 3 nights. It was so wonderful! The Oregon Coast is so beautiful. I'd love to get over to the New England area, especially during the fall. The pictures I've seen of the coastline are wonderful, and quite different from the west coast.

HI Rosemary, Just popped in to say "Hello". How is your tote bag coming along? I'm busy working on Matt's quilt. I wish I had a design wall where I could lay out these blocks. Wonder how long before you see this message. (Tee hee!)

HI Rosemary! I have been known to slam the phone down on the ins companies when they tick me off about wanting an auth for someone. I know how frustrated I get with dealing with my own, like needing an auth to get the MRI on my knee. Right now, between working and coming home in alot of discomfort with my knee and then taking care of hubby and the household...I am almost looking forward to the surgery and time off! LOL Take care

Hi Rosemary! Glad to meet you! Yes, dealing with the public is trying to say the least, but dealing with ins companies is right there being as bad. I've been at the pharmacy for 11 yrs and have formed some attachments to certain customers. I noticed in your bio your daughter's name is Rebecca....my daughter is also Rebecca! I'll be going on medical leave in 2 wks for arthroscopic knee surgery so I hope I can get a little quilting in while I recoup. Take care

Spent the day inside. Only 6" before the 2" of ice. Being rescently handicapped, I hate the ice. But I also hate feeling house bound. Couldn't get into the quilting mood, so I watched movies all day and paced. Did some work today on my family tree quilt. how is your son today? Better, I hope. January thaw - I've forgotten what that is. I think that is my trip to CA.

Hi Rosemary,
Just checking in to say "hello" ... I hope all is well with you, Scott, Rebecca, and Ben. By the way, I just love the "cat" application you have here on your page.

Hi Rosemary, Another 10-12'? Where are we going to put it. Snow banks are already steep! I have too many projects going right now, but I tend to bore easily, so many is not a bad thing. I am doing a family tree quilt for my accupunturist, a couple blocks for a group quilt for Project Linus, and post cards for a swap - don't know how many yet. also too many tops to count that are in various steges of completion. Thanks for the copliment on the birdhouses. It was done as a b'day gift for a member of another on-line group. love birdhouses.

Hi Rosemary,
Thanks for your kind words ... I'm doing okay for the most part. It's been a long process ... 8 mos. so far. But, I'm almost finished ... whoo hoo !

Hi Rosemary,
I haven't worked on any quilting projects lately ... I'm in the middle of reconstruction for breast cancer, and part of the procedure is to "fill" skin expanders in one's chest in order to place implants at a later date. Well, this past Thursday ... the doctor filled me up so much I couldn't move (lol). It was as if 2 very huge hard aliens landed on me. Whenever I get "filled" ... the pressure hinders my strength - and I can't even cut fabric let alone move a quilt through the sewing machine. Anyway ... I think that may have been my last "fill" ... so the final surgery will be within the next 4 - 5 wks - and that surgery will put me out of commission for at least a month ... but it's all been worth it.
