Thanks for your comments on my DH bargello. It placed second at the fair, so I was pleased with that! It's not hard to do a bargello - kind of like paint by numbers. The hardest thing is keeping the strips in the right order. I taped Bull clips to a metal clothes hanger, numbered each clip and attached the strips. Kept them straight and I could see right away which one was which. I added about 6 rows to each side to make the heart "float" and make it big enough for a queen bed.
Thanks, Rosemary. Just think - that'not all of it. There are borders made up of 13 pieced triangles along with 14 non-pieced triangles. I'm putting all those togethre now. One side is on, another is sewn together, the third is 3/4 together and the 4th is still pinned to the edge.
Sharon Springs is in northwest KS. We are just 13 miles from the Colorado border. If you know where Goodland, KS is, we are 30 miles south of there. Had another crappy week-end this week. Seems like things just keep going wrong around here. I left home at 5:00 a.m. yesterday, in the pitch black dark, to go to a meeting 3 hours away. We got 40 minutes from home and my brand new pick-up went clunk, dash lights started flashing messages at me, and it would just barely go down the highway. Called my DH, he brought a trailer and came after us. Hauled it back to the dealer......they said we have a "sick" truck. No duh? Needless to say, we didn't make it to our meeting. Good thing it has a warranty.
Then this AM, we decided to try the furnace (61 degrees in house), it won't work either. I'm afraid to touch anything else.....it seems everything I touch goes to _________!
Hope you're having a great day and enjoying that new gradson!
Where is Republic, Mo? Both of our kids live in MO. Jenni is in Lee's Summit and Allan is in Peculiar.
Your new grandson is a cutie. Ours was born yesterday (HA) and just turned 13. My time flies when babies grow up. Hope yours is close enough to enjoy as mine is 6 1/2 hours away and we only see him a few times a year.
Thanks Rosemary, I posted a request to everyone for their permission to use their names and location on my quilt label, then Linda"Sue" and others asked if I would let them use what I came up with as well. I have a couple of ideas I am working on, when I get the arrangements drawn up I will post them, so if anyone else wants to print the labels out on fabric they can. I just wanted to have a label/signature block to have a record and complete the memories for this quilt.
I really is a small world. Have Margie come over and see some of my handi work on my photos. I wish she had a computer! But will diffinetly stay in touch. You stated that you were surfing Fons & Porter....have you been to their shop??? I got there this summer. My friends from Waterloo, Iowa went since Des Moines is only an hour from them. I used to live in Waterloo, IA for about 10 years and go there is visit quilting friends. Take care......
Oh my gosh.....Rosemary...do you actually live in Republic???? My cousin lives in Republic and has for 100 years!!!! You might know them, John and Margie Parker! He owns the barber shop there. My hubby and I come to Branson a couple times a year and try to visit with them. Love to hear from you. Norma
