Hi, am looking for ideas on buying a new sewing machaine for quilting. as of right now have a Singer Simple, is okay for plain sewing blocks together.
but does not like the 3 layers, of top quilt, the batting and a back fabric to sew as one.. mine right now has a front load metal bobbin case. am sort of leary of plastic bobbin cases and drop in as had one before and broke it twice, got replacement parts both times $20 each and broke again, so that…

feel for you Linda with your encounter with the wood pile, know exactly what you go thru, we burn wood for heat too, so have learned to watch out alot, try to wear heavy duty gloves and heavy boots, smarts on the toes also.
Georgia sounds like a typical monday with the sewing shortages of fabric cuts, think we have all done that or cut too many of one also..
hope this disease you two have is not being passed on to the rest of us... ha…

Ruthann, thank you for the compliment on my Serape quilt.
Love the paintings. You know what would be really cool, if you would put
the doors with the pictures on them.. That would make room look really nice.
Thank you for your kind words on my Millifiore quilt. Most of the pieces were not that small. The smallest pieces had 1" sides. But most were between 1.5" to 3" sides. Each individual hexagon finished with 3" sides. It was a lot of fun to make.
You will get a special discount at my mall.
Thanks for the comment on the Cowboys & Indians quilt, Ruthann. It was a fun one to do - the pieced arrow sashing was the fun part for me. I liked that printed feather border as well. First time I'd ever mitered a border.
Thank you back for your kind words. I do enjoy quilting so very much as you do. I'm very impressed that you made up your patterns for your houses. You can be very proud of yourself. Most of mine are given away, some to family or friends, a lot to different charity causes, some for fund raising for charities or needs that arise. I feel that the Lord gave me the ability to make something useful as well as beautiful and that I must share it with others. Talk to you again. Happy Quilting!
If you don't mind my asking, where did you find your house patterns? They are just wonderful. You have done a great job on them. You are one prolific sewer/quilter. Love the dress potholders. Too cute to use! Saw some of your things on the quilt show site and had to pop over to take a look. It is always fun to see what others are doing. So many talented ladies! Feel free to visit my page as well.
My pie slice pattern came from Fabshophop. com. I added the strips on top. It did take a long time to make. I did win a book from Martinggale when I entered a photo contest with the quilt.
The potholders are so cute. Too cute to really use. Are they for Mother's Days gifts?
Wow, that seems fantastic. A closet you say? Now I want my own sewing room, well when my daughter moves out.
