I have only been quilting about 2 years. Before that I said I would not get mixed up in quilting because I had to many other things to do in my "Retirement" Guess what, saw a table runner that I could not live without and here I am, I don't want to do anything but quilt. I am an artist so that does take time away from my quilting. I am trying to develope a happy medium between the two. Hope to learn alot more about quilting on this site. Hello to everyone.

Thank you for the sweet compliment! Gosh!!! I think the blue and white one you saw was a snowflake I made with Kaleidoscope Kreator 3 on my computer rather than an actual quilt block. After creating them, I can print them directly onto printable fabric sheets! Regarding colors/fabric choices I get a lot of inspiration from designers such as Jinny Beyer, Carol Doak, Peggy Toole, and others! I generally pick a focus fabric and pull colors out of that to start with.....but sometimes I go out on a tangent lol
Sounds like you have had quite a rough patch lately. Hoping things will start improving now and that you will get to leave for Florida before long. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your DH. Take it easy and take care of yourself too. There will be plenty of time to sew when he is back to normal. Keep in touch.
Hi! Have been thinking about you and wondering if you are heading home yet. Hope you had a great winter and enjoyed the warm weather there. It seemed really cold here although we didn't have much snow. It is very dry in western KS and we need some moisture very badly. Hopefully now, it will be rain and not ice and snow!
Did you get any fantastic projects done this winter? I hope to finish up a quilt today and get it to the LAQ. Only have 2 seams, then the borders.
pretty pink and white piece... please show again when it's done :)... love the roses table runner - I never thought about using a floral fabric like that. I may have to 'borrow' that idea.
The weather here hasn't been too bad YET... it's gotten cold but not a whole lot of snow; infact, we can still see some of the neighbor's grass along side his skirting. We know it won't last, but the longer it stays away, the happier we are. Anxious for Spring already lol.
Yes, the bigger ones are the bow tucks bags and the smaller ones are snap happy bags. I want to make me one, but I need to get more fusible fleece before I can. I have seen ladies carrying them when I was shopping, so they must be a popular item.
The baby is adorable. Glad she is doing well with the brace and that she will be OK.
Sounds like you are busy. The purse is called Mini Bow Tucks by Penny Sturges. I'm hoping to make several for the craft fair. I may have that one sold already for a friend for his wife for Christmas.
Just got home from retreat a couple of hours ago. Had a really good time, sewed a lot, ate too much, and did a lot of laughing. I am tired, but it was a lot of fun. We were already looking at dates for another one in the spring.
I will be spending a few days with my mom again this week as she is having more teeth pulled on Wednesday.
I will check out the new sites you mentioned when I have more time. Tomorrow I will need to do laundry and pack my suitcase again. I can't believe after doing nothing but sewing for 3 days, I have the itch to go to my sewing room and do some more! but guess that will have to wait.
Have a great week.
