About Me
I've been quilting for more than 15 years. DH and I have 10 grandchildren ranging in ages from 19 to newborn! So much fun :) I just got a new Brother sewing/embroidery machine and can't wait to "get the hang of it". I work in a local quilt shop, making quilts for customers - anything from T-shirt quilts to hand embroidered blocks. We live in a resort town, so summer is our busy time at the shop.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, hand quilting, machine quilting, knitting
My pets are awesome!
2 precious puppies - Rufus and Bella

Love this!

Hi Sallee, I was just wondering how the Advocare was going for you? Would you recommend it? My annual doctor visit is approaching and I wanted to ask her about it.
Thanks.

Sallie -thanks for the comment on the quilting on my boxt stars quilt. I can't take credit for the idea though as I saw another one on the boxy stars site that was quilted similarly. I like it because it went quickly and didn't all have to look exactly the same.

Thanks Sallee, it's been a very tough time, but knowing that so many friends are keeping us in their thoughts and prayers sure helps.

Sallee, I just found your message. I guess I better pay attention. The Horizon by Janome I believe will be in the $3,000 range, Depending on how much you can squeeze your dealer. Check it out on line. It was so much fun to play with at the unveiling. The huge bed is awesome. It has 250 different stitches, and a built in even feed system (accufeed). It's very quiet and stitches so nicely. I know you would love it. I WILL be getting one; I don't know when, but I will.

Do you have the name of the pattern of the first red and black picture on your slideshow? I would like to get it and have it handy for a comfort quilt pattern. It looks like it might be easy but look complicated (those are the ones I like!).

Beautiful Saturday in NW Iowa

Posted on March 14, 2009 at 8:47am 1 Comment

We survived feeding 24 people last night and everyone had a wonderful time - AND NO LEFTOVERS! That is definitely worth putting in caps. I don't think anyone went away hungry, either. Afterward, most everyone headed to the local bowling alley only a block away to bowl a couple of lines and 3 of us gals stayed and cleaned up and caught up on news of each family. It was a wonderful time! DH outdid himself on pork loin and chicken breasts on the grill. He marinades them overnight in his own take… Continue

Not a Good Day

Posted on March 12, 2009 at 6:02am 4 Comments

My DD from Sioux Falls came to spend the day with my other 2 DD's and myself yesterday. When I got up yesterday a.m. I thought I didn't feel very well, but I have FMS and most mornings go that way. We went to lunch and shopped. After she left mid-afternoon I really didn't feel well. Long story short - I've got the flu. DH graciously shared it with me. Isn't he a darling? We have 24 people coming tomorrow evening for dinner. Not sure how this is all going to play out, but right now, I'm going to… Continue

OMG - Will this never end?

Another icy and snowy day in NW Iowa. I am so sick of winter! On top of that, hubby is home very sick with the flu. He is never sick and never misses work. Wish I could do something to make him feel better. Looks like I'll just have to spend the day working on my granddaughter's quilt. Isn't that a shame? LOL I think I'll also practice with the Flynn Frame. Bought it several months ago and haven't taken the time to try it. Anyone have any experience with one? If you do, I'd appreciate any… Continue

When is spring coming?

It's a nasty, icy and snowy day in NW Iowa. We got half mile down the road to church this a.m. and turned around to come back home. Icy pellets driven by wind - yup, it must be Iowa! I'm going to finish a pillowcase for my granddaughter, then cut out her quilt today. They have had their home burglarized twice in the past 3 wks. and the second time whoever broke in used my granddaughter's pillowcase that I made for her as a sack to carry their "loot". They live in Vegas. All four kids, as well… Continue

Beautiful Tuesday!

My youngest daughter and I went to Sioux Falls SD yesterday to get her camera fixed and have lunch with my son who lives there. It was 58 degrees, sun shining and just a perfect day (by Midwest standards for Feb.). We stopped at the Dutch Rose Quilt Shop. Yup - Walked out of there with another project. It's the Rainbow Chain Quilt from Lakehouse Dry Goods. I'm making it in black, rose, soft yellow and soft greens. The sample they had hanging there was beautiful. Since I have finished 3 UFO's in… Continue
