Iron rest

Posted on June 10, 2012 at 7:30am 5 Comments

Yesterday I asked for suggestions for a new iron. Saw this at amazon.com. Its a silicone iron rest by Whitmor. The cost is $9.91 plus S&H. Has anyone used one of these? Thought it would make it easier to remember to turn the iron off when done when I see it laying flat.…

Looking for a new iron

Posted on June 9, 2012 at 12:20pm 5 Comments

I want to buy a new iron, but I want one with the option of auto shut-off. Do they(whoever) make irons with this option? I have a one that I got from walmart for $10 that doesn't shut-off, but it's just ok. When getting ready to do the final pressing, I have to stop what I'm doing to restart my iron. Its kinda annoying to have to wait for the iron to reheat. I know it doesn't take long, but still.

I hardly ever come to QWU home page even though I'm here everyday. I'm missing out on a…

Ungratefull

Posted on January 9, 2010 at 11:49am 32 Comments

Been reading the blogs here everyday, but hardly ever write anything myself. This morning I spent time ironing and squaring up a million half square triangles. It felt like a million, it was around 170. My brother better like the finished product.

I decided to give a friend my southern star BOM quilt for her birthday next month. I showed her the finished squares because she said that she's been asking for a quilt for two years(more like one), I wanted to show her that I was thinking about… Continue

Haven't posted anything in a long while. Have finals in two weeks. I sure will be glad when this semester is over. Doing well in my math and medical term. classes, may have to talk my english class over. I love reading books, but hate writing papers. From what other students are saying, no one is getting higher than a C. I have this love/hate thing about school. Would rather be sewing or reading, just have to keep thinking about the benefit of going back to school.

Jury duty starts next… Continue

Hi

It's been a long time since I've typed anything (June). Was having computer problems, and would go to the library to go online. I couldn't sit there for hours like I would at home. Everything is back to normal at home, computer is working fine.

Started back to school last month, classes are going good, but I really don't care for english class. I don't like to write essays.

I've finished only one quilt these past few months. A baby quilt for a friends new grandbaby. This friend keeps… Continue

Be sure to measure when you print them out (at 100%) to be sure they are the right size. If they aren't I can send them another way.

I'm not sure what happened, but I accepted you as a friend and next thing I knew the comment with your address was gone and I can't find it. Please send it to my.sewingroom@att.net. Thanks.

Samara, I am getting old and forgetful--I coulcn't remember which group page we were on when I finally found the name of the tutorial for the mug rugs. It is:

WWW.ryanwalshquilts.com I think I am spelling it all correctly.  If you get to his page then it is about the third thing that he shares, I think. If you have trouble finding it let me know and I will try again.http://www.ryanwalshquilts.com Guess what I found out how to add a link. Use the second one and forget the first.

Hay Samara:  Just wanted to let you know that Wilcom Truesizer is a free download.  Now I don't know how much you can do with it, because the only thing i've done is take a design and make it larger or smaller, but you might be able, or he might be able to work with it to create something.

Hi Samara! It's been some time since I have seen anything from you. Of course, we all get caught up in the everyday stuff and never have enough time for everything. I do understand............... Just nice to see you on the site once in awhile. How is everything your way? You have some really great and colorful quilts, so I guess you are getting some time for sewing................ Just as long as you have time for you, it's all worth it!! Have a great day!
Hugs!
