About Me
I am not a pattern follower and enjoy designing and creating my own art quilts. I have used many different techniques, textiles and mediums to create my art, however I enjoy traditional block quilts as well. I use my home machine to piece and quilt up to full size quilts. I like to add embellishments and texture to my creations which provide depth and interest.

Out of the Blue -UFO

Posted on March 3, 2017 at 9:00am 1 Comment

I'm working on another UFO.  This one has been in my basket for about 3 years.  It was a challenge piece in that the circles had to be as perfect as possible and pieced, then appliqued onto a whole cloth background.  The pathway is also a challenge as it was pieced together with strippy pieces in differing widths and cut to meander down the side of the whole cloth background.  It sat in my basket up to the sandwich stage.  So, I've again committed to working on it for at least 1 hour…

One UFO finish

Making a commitment to sew at least an hour everyday has paid off with the completion of this quilt top.  It has been kicking around in my UFO basket for at least 8 years as cut pieces to make pinwheel blocks.  It feels good to be done with the top and to move on to something else.

Feeling like a CLOD

It's slow going in the New Year.  By the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all, sorry I'm a little late to the party!  HAha, as always.   Getting back to my opening sentence... I have had the same pile of fabrics on my cutting table since November.  That's a big mistake.  Every time I  go in the studio, it's there staring at me.  I set down my coffee, and immediately get feeling guilty, so I cut even more charity quilt tops and Art Abandonment pieces.  What I should be doing is picking a UFO out to…

Sandra, I think when you make a new post, at the bottom of the page it asks, "Who can comment on this post" and if "just me" is selected, no one else can comment.  I just didn't want you to think we were all snubbing your posts when no one commented on them.  :)

UFO Circle quilt - The comment section was closed on this post, Sandra, but I wanted to tell you how lovely the quilting is on this project.  I admire anyone who can free-motion quilt, and this is turning out beautifully.  Hopefully it will be a fun, relaxing project for you.
