Hello, my name is Sylvia, I am 47 years old and live in Germany. I have two children and a granddaughter. Except quilten sewing, spinning, knitting, reading, books, hearing books and my garden belong to my hobbies.
Sometimes I wish, my day would have 48 hours.:-)
Milavia-thank you for the Christmas block you sent as part of the 6" block swap. I have really enjoyed it. My Mother would have been thrilled to see the block from you since all her ancestors were from Germany. Beautiful fabric too!!
I agree Sylvia...we often do forget to look around us and enjoy what we already have. I try to be happy and thankful every day for what I have. I feel very blessed. This site is wonderful with so many groups that fulfill our desire to meet other quilters and learn new things. I look forward to getting to know you better and have a long friendship!
Hi Sylvia! I am in the swap group, and I am so happy you have joined us! Many of my relatives are German. My fathers name is Wenz and my mothers maiden name was Dayhuff. I hope one day I can travel to Germany and see it. I hear that it is very beautiful!
Welcome to the Quilt Frame. And I totally agree. I wish I had more hours in the day to do all I want to accomplish. I often tell people that by the looks of all the projects I have waiting to be finished, I should live to be well over 150. And then I threaten my two daughters every time they visit by showing them my quilt studio - I say just look around, all this will be yours s omeday. They roll their eyes. They both sew (one is an extremely accomplished quilter as well). I am sure they have enough of their own. Anyway, I know you will enjoy this group and you will learn much. Several of the folks are on here a lot more than I, talking back and forth. I have two part time jobs plus I am a UCC Pastor now (part time also) so I have limited my time to checking in each evening and (if I can) morning also. So glad you decided to join us. Joyce
Sylvia--I hope you will look at the Around the Frame group on this site. It is for hand quilters, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. I have learned a lot about hand quilting from the other people in the group. I love making quilts from old patterns. Right now I am making a Double Wedding Ring.
Sylvia thanks so much for finding me and your wonderful comment on my AMG quilt. I hope you enjoyed the applique class with a little practice and the love of applique you will be just as wonderful would love to know what pattern you are working on...
I see you have a blog I will have to go visit it..
