About Me
I love to quilt! My mother and grandmother taught me to hand quilt growing up. Ten years ago, when I didn't know what to do while my infant slept, I started doing patchwork. I just love the way colors play off one another and how the texture of quilting compliments everything. I'm a firm believer that the quilt is about the piecing and the quilting is to accent that piecing. I also love antique motifs derived from hand quilting--after all, that is where I started as a youth. When I long-arm quilt, I primarily follow my own free-hand designs.

Well....it's been a while since I posted last.  I've been busy writing new quilt patterns.  I'm grateful that Connecting Threads has chosen to keep them on their download page.  My newest features their new Nana's Pantry fabric line and is one of the featured downloads.  Here's the picture:…

Hey Ladies!  Some of you have been teasing me about my near over-use of red fabric in my quilts, so to be balanced , here's a blue one!  :)

Here's a photo of it coming off the quilt frame.…

Hi Shannon!  I joined a Smocking Club a few years ago in my area because I wanted to learn to smock.  ( I remembered my mom smocking a dress for me when I was 5).  I have joined SAGA which is the national group for smocking, and I have been to 2 conventions, 1 in Indianapolis and 1 in Norfolk Va.  I love taking classes, I am not good at clothing construction, but hope to learn. I have only smocked little hats for the preemie infants at a local hospital.  I have a subscription to Martha Pullen's Sew Beautiful, and I occasionally by a Smocking magazine from JoAnn Fabrics, if they have it, or my local smocking shop.

Thank you Shannon for inviting me to be your friend. It's my pleasure. It sounds like you have deep roots in the quilting field. Surprisingly, even though my mother was a very good seamstress, I never seen her make a quilt. Actually I never seen my aunts make one either and they all sewed. I didn't make my first quilt until just a few years ago. I have only made two bed quilts and they are both out in Indiana. I stick to smaller projects like baby quilts etc. I have alway made garments, and home dec. but I do love quilting. Right now I'm working on making my three youngest GC a quilt for Christmas. I have one more to go after finishing the one I'm now working on. I have a couple of tree skirts and two purses to make for gifts also. I take in alterations so I don't get allot of me time to sew. I hope you will join me in chat someday. If you hear little blurps coming from you computer check out the chat as there will be some people chatting. Just hop in and join us.
