About Me
Hello,
I am a stay at home wife and mom. I have a great husband and two wonderful boys. One who has special-needs, so outside of being his full time cargiver, teacher, etc, I find my refuge in God and in my sewing room. I love to embroider, sew and quilt. Although I am still learning alot, so any advice would be appreciated and I don't get a chance to attend many classes. I have purchased books, dvds etc. I love to read as well. Hope to meet some new people with some of the same interests.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, machine quilting, embroidery
My Pets
Zek, Zoey, (dogs) Callie, Tiger (cats)

The clock is ticking......his hand is moving.......

Hello everyone,
Hope all is well with everyone. Here in Alabama Ida has decided that her time was running out too so I guess she's decided nothing like showing up at the last minute!!!! She's definitely an unwanted visitor. I can't believe Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner. There is the tree to trim( going up this weekend) and more shopping to do.(online more this year). I have to finish quilting the jelly roll strip top before Dec. 1. Class is Dec. 3 to finish it. My mind is… Continue

I am trying to finish the CT pumpkin Patch wall hanging and I got the blocks on the sides to line up with my squares ( with the pumpkins on them) but trying to do the top and bottom rows aren't working out. I have went back and made sure that my seam allowances are right and they still don't want to line up correctly with the big squares...get it? Any advice? I started my placemats set and not having any problems with that. Me and little one and a-half inch squares apparently aren't meant to be!… Continue

Video-conferencing for Special-needs children....What shall we name the program???

Well the thing I wanted to see happen is finally on it's way!!! As some of you know my son Danny is special-needs and because he is a homebound student, back in April I suggested to the public school system the concept of doing web caming or video-conferencing for the winter when he is in isolation due to the flu season. God has opened the door on this project.Thank you Lord!!! On Friday of last week I went and picked up some equipment and we are offically up and running as of an hour ago.Now he… Continue

Sharon, yes, it will be only me and Hubby for Christmas but we may have some company. Our best friends head to the States for the best part of the winter months so we will surely miss them. I am sure DH won't be up to too much yet even in another month. I hear it takes a good 3 months to be back to somewhat normal after knee surgery. That is okay as long as it heals and he is able to use it without pain, that will be our goal right now. After Christmas, Mom comes and stays with us for about 4 - 5 months. It will be great to have her too. I usually go and get her so it will be interesting to see what transpires this year as I really cannot leave DH to go and get her. Maybe meet her in Toronto, though. Chat again soon - between visits to the hospital right now.

Hi Sharon, you are a lifesaver. No I have not ordered the bird yet!!! lolololol I will do it in the morning. That is so funny. I need friends like you with good memories!!!!! I enjoyed talking to you too. It had been too long. I was happy to help you with getting going on your stack n whack. Let me know how much fun you have playing with it all this weekend. I got my binding sewn on Lauri's quilt today and listened to cd 1 & 2 of Joyce Meyers Set on Spiritual Warfare. It is so good. I need to hear what she is saying. I am hand stitching now. I am on my 2nd side. Thought I'd take a minute to check the site and e-mails. Have a great weekend and thanks for the reminder. Hugs to you Sharon, Love Linda

Or going to stores....church and so much is taken from us. Yet... I at the same time do feel blessed in so many ways. I have come to make the best of my situation.... and Sharon in my time home, I quilt, sew, oil paint..... chat here on the computer....and I am writing a book on my son. I can always find so much to do! I will chat more later my dear new friend! Hugs oxoxoxoxo Morgan

Sharon Hi! I have a few minutes here, thought I'd write and chat.... I am so sorry your son is ill too. Yes it is a difficult thing not to be able to be out and about. I go out once a week to shop for food. yet lately, as silly as it is, I wear a mask... and clean the cart handles before touching. I need though this time... I know there will come a time I should not even do this. Yet, for now I look forward to see the inside of a store. lol. It sure wears me out too after bringing in the bags of food. yet in some way...I feel I am able to do this at least for now. I am saying prayers for you both, that Danny can get through these winter months, without catching anything. He and I have had to learn and accept staying home is what we have. I have come to where I have really accepted this. MY Dh wants to take over shopping for me. If it gets bad with the flu I will have to give up going out at all. My Dh will have to do this for me... I am today taking down all of my fall items I had out. My Dh is home such a short time... each week.. just a day.... and he misses out seeing the Christmas decorations... tree... therefore I put it up this week... gives him more time to enjoy. Hope you you are having a wonderful day, say hello to Danny for me.... and happy we are friends now. oxoxoxox Hugs Morgan

Hi Sharon, I never posted anything on stack n whack. The other girls have put some very helpful instructions on the stack n whack group though. You might have to look back over older posts. It is not hard at all, especially the four patch that we all started with.
Classes are going well. Only a couple more weeks. But since we are moving back home to Texas in December I will have to start over with the school stuff. Hope all is well with you.

Sharon, Hi! It is very nice to meet you. I have been rather busy, trying to get my Christmas gifts made... and therefore that is why it took me a while to answer your post. Lets keep in touch...!!!!! I shall write more in a few days...hubby is home right now. He leaves Wednesday morning! Hugs oxoxox Morgan

I would love it if you signed up for stack n whack. We are having a block exchange that starts now and goes through the end of February. We will do mailings Mar 1st. I posted the pattern pic on a blog this morning. It is not a snw pattern but you can inset the blocks at the same size where the 10" one goes. I saw you on-line too and went to the chat room to see if I could catch you there and we could talk. I will try and give you a call. Hugs to you Sharon and Blessings!!.

Sharon--welcome to the Caregivers group. I hope you will find encouragement, as well as share your experience. How are things going with the video conferencing, and how is Danny doing this fall? I have said a prayer for all of you to escape the flu and other illnesses this winter. My son had swine flu several weeks ago and is sick again--nothing like you are dealing with, but he has had severe asthma since he was very small. I'm glad it's a sinus infection and not seasonal flu on top of the other, but he is in rough shape--and no mom there to do all the caretaking/errand running/ chicken soup serving.
