Although I am relatively new to quilting , I have been sewing since I was in Jr. High School. (That statement should date me since it is called middle school now) When the children lived at home I sewed everything for them. Then as all children do, they grew up and wanted jeans and tee shirts. Thus sewing wise I felt sort of useless so eventually I got rid of all my fabric .... what was I thinking?????? To make a long story short one day I just had to have a fabric fix... if you know what I mean. One purchase lead to another and I was hooked again. So I looked for an outlet to express the sewing beast within me. I can't remember what drew me to quilting but I discovered it and now I wonder why I didn't quilt when the children were young. I just wish I had the scraps from all the things I made them! I would love to make them all a memory quilt
As for now, I love the fabric, the patterns and the work... the labor of love that goes into each project. Sharon

I have been quilting for abour 4 years but my teacher at 43 had a heart attack and died. Shocking to all of us but she got a small group hooked on quilting - she tought us so much in such a short time. Now I do quilts for Relay for life , my grand children and freinds. I have found I am not a scrappy quilter, would rather have a kit or buy fabric. Not a hobby more of an obsession... Best to you
Thanks again Sharon! The continued prayer is what we truly need right now, to get Sarah's vision back so she can lead a normal life. She is only 27 and has so much of life ahead of her yet. She will just be celebrating her first wedding anniversary in May. She is taking it all in stride though. Much better than I am I think! God has seen us through so much already and I know He isn't through working in her life just yet!
Sharon, Just wanted to say thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my daughter Sarah! I have posted updated information and wanted to let you know I appreciated the support during such a difficult time!
Thank you for asking to be my friend. I believe God has joined us together as prayer warriors on Sarah's behalf. I too just left a prayer on the blog, I believe every word the Holy Spirit gave to you and to me. I am believing that down the road we are going to be lifting up praises to His Holy Name for what He is about to do in this families life. To Him be all the Glory!!!!!!! Linda
Sharon I just want to be in agreement with everything you said to Mary about her daughter. I come together with you as your sister-in-Christ to lift up her daughter for health and healing and for strength during this difficult season in their lives. I stand with you dear sister because our hearts are one for this precious woman and the healing of her daughter. In Christ, Linda Robertson

Hi Sharon. Nah...I'm used to hanging out with quilters and crafters. I've gone along on many "trends" but have resisted quilting for the most part. Maybe in my next decade. I used to sew clothes but gave up when nothing seemed to be right after all that work.
For now, I mostly read in my spare time, but am also trying to teach myself to crochet. And make myself clean my house. Not good at that, either.
