It's hard for me to get back in the groove after the Holidays. It's been that way since my mom passed away in 1998. Hard to believe she's been gone this long. Mom wasn't a crafty person - she loved that kind of thing but, with 4 kids and no one to teach her, she really never learned how to do things. Think of all the wonderful inspirational things we have these days.

Since I don't seem to be able to keep this blog current, I guess that writing a book isn't going to happen. Funny - I think I had the same problem with keeping a diary when I was a teenager. Even though I'm frequently told I should write a book, I think I'd have to just tell stories and let someone else write it. Really! There would be some very interesting and different chapters.

What is wrong with the world? I just don't understand why so many people seem to think we need more than one winter in our lifetime! Last year was enough for me. I know, I know - you're probably thinking I'm an idiot and if I don't like it, why not move? Please! Someone send me the money to do that and I will!! I'm just not ready for this to come around again. On the plus side, believe it or not, I'm pretty ready for Christmas. Only a few people to do for and they're almost done. Just got to…

Old Man Winter needs to DIE! He has been around long enough and I'm so thoroughly sick of him that I'm resorting to this plan of action. Who's with me? As for the groundhog...well, let's just say that if the coyotes don't get him, I'm going to borrow DH's shotgun.

Sheila....After looking at the 2015 calendar I realized the retreat is the weekend before Thanksgiving. I have my family in for our Thanksgiving on the Saturday before. Therefore I won't be able to attend. I realize I will forfeit my deposit. Thanks.
You haven't looked very close or you'd see the mistakes! LOL
Very cold here today and I have to go out. NOT looking forward to that at all. But I'm heading to the Museum today for fabric and patterns for 3 dresses to make! Don't need to have them done until September. But KT is anxious to start picking out fabrics! And truth be told, so am I..... Keep warm and have a fantastic weekend.
Sheila, you have some gorgeous things you've made. I'm green! Not really.... yes I am..... LOL
Hmmm, I guess the only thing I could say would be to Google it? It's a Historical Island around here. They give tours all summer long and there is a big house on the island where a famous family once lived. I think there name was Blennerhassett. They re-inact the family and servants and go all out. They even have teas and everything. It's quit beautiful.
I live near Marietta, Belpre, and Parkersburg, WV. I'm about 20 mins. from Marietta and Parkersburg and only 6 -8 mins. from Belpre. Close enough to the city, but still in the country. I sew for Blennerhassett Island Museum usually at least once a year. You may have heard of Blennerhassett Island?
Your a smart lady! I wish I could of worked! I tried and had panic attacks and nerve problems ..... thanks dad. So hubby told me to just stay home, so I did. But oh how I wanted to be in the work force! I do sew for folks and a local Museum. So I at least make my own play money......
Thank you Sheila, I do love to applique! I'm just a simple housewife of 42 yrs. with 2 grown daughters and 4 grandkids. Don't work so I have plenty of free time on my hands. Hubby is now retired and drives me bonkers! I do volunteer a couple of days at our churches food pantry. Actually, hubby has started to help there too! No break for the wicked is there? LOL
When I married my DH, people called me a gold digger. It's been 16 years and I'm still looking for the money. lol
Beautiful quilt projects. I want to be like you when I grow up. lol
