About Me
I've been hand piecing and quilting for almost 30 years now, although I spend more time away from the joys of quilting than I should. I have one daughter and two grandchildren, and when I'm not quilting, I love to write stories - long or short - it doesn't matter. There's not that much more to tell, so I'll leave it at that and just say that I am so glad that I found this little online community!

NaNoWriMo

Well, it's that time of the year again for those of us who fancies themselves an author. November is National Novel Writing Month, also know as NaNoWriMo. It's a month that thousands of people put aside their regular life and dedicate hours to the art of writing a 500,000 word novel within a 30 day time frame.

Sounds insane?? Oh yeah! But you know, I look forward to it every single year! I never "win" the challenge, but the new friends I meet and the half nove… Continue

Getting things done

Went camping this weekend and got rained on. A LOT. The good news is that because of the rain, I spent a good portion of the time in my car, and since I was there, I just happened to have some of my Slackers quilt blocks to work on. :D So yeah, I was able to complete yet another block in my ever growing list of quilt blocks for my SBS quilt.

That quilt is coming right along, but I do want to get some work done on the BOM Sampler and my Autumn Stars quilt that have been sitting there waiting for… Continue

It's official, I am in love!

I bought the Tri-Recs Ruler for a different project, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Until now, that is.

I sat down tonight to cut out some material for more blocks in the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler quilt I am making, and when I saw the 54-40 block, I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to try out this ruler.

Oh. My. Goodness!! Like I said, true love. lol I could not beli… Continue

Sylvia's Bridal Sampler

Yes, I've decided to jump on the band wagon and join in on the fun. I don't have the book yet, but I went ahead and cut out the fabric for four of the blocks that I was able to convert from the pictures, and I'm anxious to start sewing!!

140 blocks in one year's time!! Oh, I must be nuts. :)

If you don't want to use it in your SBS quilt it's alright! I don't mind it. It's yours to do with what you will! I am just happy that you like it so much! XOXOX

Oh Sheryl...you are so very welcome! I am glad to hear that you like it even more now that you have seen it. I showed my POTC blocks to Norma, and she said the same thing, that they look better in person than in pictures. Do you think it will be something you will put in your SBS quilt or do something else with it?

Thanks Sheryl... I've considered it, but don't know too many people that are willing to pay what it is worth... I do make quilts for other people, but sooooooo many times they think I'm gouging them on the price!
