Good Morning Shirley, Thanks for writing back. Actually the back of my office faces the large field that separate us from Heartland Regional. I have been to Paducah about 2 times before but have never gone with another true quilter. I have been with a nonquilting friend and last year went with my boss. This year I am supposed to be going with my neice who is dabbling with quilting a little bit but since she has no desire to do anything at all related to a sewing machine, I kind of doubt it will go anywhere. Who knows though, maybe she will get inspired! Don't worry about not getting time to do much. I too am pretty limited by time restraints. Weekends are about the only time I get to spend much time as by the time I get home in the evenings after going to the grocery store or working out at Curves, get supper on, clean up, do a little housework or laundry, my evening is gone and I am wore out. I just do what I can when I can. Have a great day!
Hi, Shirley Ann,
Gospel is also my favorite music to play. I am not a finesse player, but if anyone wants loud and fast that would be me. Have been drawn to sewing machines and pianos all my life...also fabric, cats and friendly dogs. My parents moved my grandma's piano into the house for me when I was 7 (she decided to get an organ), and my neighbor agreed to give me lessons even though she was rather reclusive...she went on to teach other children for years after that! Anyway, playing an instument and quilting both always offer new challenges and make life so much more fun.
Well this is a small world! My name is Marla and I live in Mt. Vernon and work in Marion so I know where Johston City is as I pass it every day! I have been quilting for the past 2 years in earnest but have piddled with it since I was a child and learned at my mother's knee. I am definitely a quilt nut and would love to chat with you sometime. Are you going to the quilt show this year in Paducah? You are so fortunate to have a quilt shop near you in West Frankfort. Talk to you soon! My e-mail address is email@example.com
I just joined the mid-west group, but have been reading everyone's comments for a few days. My name is also Shirley Ann, and I also play the piano...would love to have a baby grand almost as much as a new Bernina, but blessed to have a sewing machine and a piano that both work! What type of music do you enjoy playing?
Yes we did pass right by! By the time we got to Paducah, the stores were closed....GOOD THING!! We're staying at the Comfort Inn at Exit 3. Very nice. Head to Cartersville GA tomorrow to my bil and sil's for a few days, then to FA.
God Bless....keep quilting for me while I'm gone.
