It has been a little while since we've chatted. I haven't been on-line as much lately. Bill & I adopted an 11yr old Lab/Golden mix ... and he and Fluffy-(cat) are not on friendly terms. I spend quite a bit of time just keeping them apart. Also, the dog (Fuffer) likes to go for walks ... so I take him out 2-3 times a day for a 1-2 mile walk each time. I've lost 4 lbs since Sat. YEAH !
Bill hasn't been feeling all that well lately ... over the last 2-3 weeks, he's become so weak - it's as if he's on the chemo again. Bill wonders if it's the beginning of the end. I honestly don't think so - but, hey ... I'm not a doctor. He's lost all interest in playing guitar - that's my measuring stick on his progress.
It sounds like you have the urge to do a little gardening. I'm looking forward to planting my flowers ... but, we still have a few more weeks before the last frost of the season.
Hi Starla! Thank you for that nice compliment on patience.I enjoy them so much and it is nice to be able to work from home! I did home care and Hospice for the past 10 years for Appannose County but because of osterporis is the spine and hip I can,t lift clients. Everyone has done so many nice quilts. I am honored to be in this group! Talk later......PaulaJ
Hi Starla, I was reorganizing my stash and came across a package of 9 batik hand-painted cat squares that I bought from Keepsake Quilting a few years ago. After I got them, I realized I just do not like batik so put them away and forgot about them. I know I will never use them, so was wondering if you would like them? I would be more than happy to send them to you.
Hi Starla. Thanks for the welcome! It seems like no matter what other projects I make, I always come back to scrap quilts. Actually in my case they are more like "fat quarter and remnant" quilts. It is a good way to clean out my stash and make room for the new fabric that is calling "come and buy me" !!
Yeah, the angel wings is a tribute to you! I am glad you like it. I was tickled. I have picked out the fabrics for my next square. Plus I have a baby quilt for a friend at work ready to quilt. I should finish it soon. Oh, Smokie and the Bandit is on, love that movie. Better go watch it, I might miss something good.
Hi Starla. I got my squares-very nice ones too! They were her the very next day and in perfect shape. Just love your star wuilt. I am making a snowball one first out of the 6" squares and will make a pinwheel one with the rest. Have not heard from Darla, wonder if she intends to contribute or if somehting happened? I think I will have plenty of squares, anyway. Are you working at Connie's now ? What days? I will stop in and see you-maybe we have met before,as I go in there fairly frequently. Pat A.
What store in Amana has batiks? I'm always looking for them. The shooting star quilt is from a book called "Amazingly Simple Satr Quilts" I ordered it from house of White Birches a few years ago. I love all the quilts in it. The shooting star was done by fusing 2 in squares onto a gridded fusible interfacing and then sewing seams the length and width of the quilt. It was soemthing I'd never done but worked really well.
