Talk about a small world! LOL I used to shop for fabric in Croughan until a shop opened up in Glenfield right on Rte. 12, only about 20 minutes from my cabin. And you're right about the weather up there. It's my absolute favorite place to quilt! : )
What part of the State are you from? We have best friends living in Webster, NY. They share the *cabin* with us. (Really, "cabin" is a euphemism for this place! It's what I thought we were building! LOL)
Sue, we're on the far western edge of the park. The closest *big* town is Lowville. We're an hour due south of Watertown and the Canadian border.
Speaking of peaceful, compared to NJ traffic, this is Heaven! LOL
It's a small private lake (only about a mile long) and surrounded by so many pine trees that when the colors do change we're always surprised there are actually other trees out there. I think we only ever have one cicada all Summer! It's also been *grandfathered* into the original charter that there are never to be any motors on this lake . Ony canoes, kayaks, or paddle boats are allowed.
My son works for MacNeal (sp). I asked my DH, but I think he's *drifted off"! LOL Right now we're in up-state NY where we have a vacation place in the Adirondacks. We've been coming here ever since the late 70s and finally built a place about 6 years ago. We have no TV so we listen to the radio. There's a station out of Syracuse that plays old time radio shows in the evening. Some of them put him straight to sleep! LOL (Truth to tell, most of them do!) I find they're great for doing hand -work to, but I stay awake. ; )
I asked him about Pete's company because he (DH) worked for Howmedica before he retired, so he's familiar with all the drug co. names.
