Posted on January 20, 2009 at 10:30am 0 Comments

I put aside this day to search and play. Think I will go and start moving things around for my sewing room I am in process of organizing. I need to check and see how many UFO's I could be working on. Weather is pretty fair today at least the sun is shing and is in the 20's. My dogs are just laying around and snoozing. What a day for me.

At least its beginng to warm up. Now it is suppose to be 20 today. Am anxious to get my sewing room set up. Going to look at supplies. Then I can keep busy for awhile and not think of winter. All I have seen for the last month is snow. But it makes me want to make a new quilt.

Hi Susan,
Wow, we live close to each other as I live in Fairmount. Do you like to visit quilt shops? Have you been to Shipshewana, Indiana before. I am 52 years old, married and love to make all types of crafts.
Karen (craftybear2005@yahoo.com) send me email so we can chat with each other

Hi, I'm from Murfreesboro, TN. I read on one of the posts that your daughter just started quilting. Have her go to mid south sewing center by the old Carter's children's store on River Rock Blvd the first Saturday in February. They're having embroidery club from 10 am- about noon, It's free. Most of us are quilters that have embroidery machines. Some come just for the ideas. Anyways, have her come because we're having a purses expo to learn how to make purses. It's free! We meet every month on the first Saturday. Go to "mid south sewing center of Murfreesboro" (google.com) to see that what I'm telling you is true. I hope to see a new face. She can bring projects for show and tell too. We'd love to have her and she can bring others with her.

Hi Susan. Just seeing what has been going on and found that you are on line. Your quilt look so pretty, did you get the material at CT? My picture shows a picture of a quilt that I now have to bind. Top quilting is complete - just need the time to spend doing the finish on this pretty material from CT. I hope your day was spent doing fun things on your do anything day. Have a great evening.

My daughter and her 3 boys came down from Marquette MI yesterday for a visit...there goes my sewing time!! That's ok, though, because I don't get to see them often as they are 10 1/2 hours away. Right now, I am looking for a pattern to do a baby quilt...it's for some friends to give away to their friend in March...glad I started it now because it may take me awhile to find the pattern...maybe I better organize my sewing room first!! Well, the baby just woke up...mom and brothers are shopping so I'd better go. (pray that I find my pattern!!)

I have actually been to the quilt shop in Marion a few times...I really like it. I have a really good friend that lives in Kokomo and we bought the material for the quilt in my picture at Sew Biz.

What kind of set-up do you have...type of machine, frame, etc? I have just purchased an Imperial Inspiria frame to use with my Babylock Quilter's Pro and I am having a lot of fun with it. I also work at H&R Block in addition to my quilting so this time of year my hobby suffers!

WELCOME! I am from Indianapolis, IN and I am glad to hear their other Hoosiers that want to share their quilting experiences. I started quilting in the late 1990's and I am still learning and I actually think that is a good thing about quilting. There are many avenues to check out that a lifetime is probably not long enough.
