I have been quilting for about 10 years. I joined this site when we left San Diego in 2009. We now live in Westwood, IA. I just purchased the Accuquilt Go Baby, and I am really enjoying the ease of cutting pieces!
I also enjoy crossword puzzles, oil painting, swimming and playing the piano.
Hi Suzi Wow its been a while since I was on this board. I moved to North Fork, Ca in 2007, and lost my hubby to cancer in 2012. Its been a very stressful and scary time for me, but things are looking up. come on home to California, we miss our friends who move away.
Suzi, I was sure glad to hear from you and know that it wasn't some glitch in the computer. Are you still quilting with the group you joined after moving there? Today, I'm finishing 2 more quilts and then will have 8 done for this Sunday to turn in. Our co-ordinator works at the local fire station and we use the meeting room, which is pretty big. Oh, what fun we have catching up and sewing. We also get more fabric, batting or whatever we need. I like to get kits that are cut and ready to sew. You have a great weekend and thanks for getting in touch with me.
Hi Suzi, The weirdest thing happened when I received an e-mail from you dated Jan '10 in reply to my e-mail from Dec '09. It came in my e-mail today and I was so surprised to see it again after 2 yrs. How are you doing? We are doing fine here and enjoy our NW cool weather, compared to the hot spots across the states. We did have 2 days in the 90's, but back to the low 70's today. Suppose to get into the mid 80's in the next few days.
We spent 3 months in going and coming to AZ this past year. We really enjoyed the warm weather and seeing so many new things. We plan to go again this winter, probably in mid of Jan. I've been doing some quilting for Project Linus and working out in my jungle yard, making it look like not so much a jungle. It's a ver los matainence yard, so we don't really have to do anything to it.
If you have time, let me know what you are doing now.
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
Hi Suzi! I have still not found out a closing date for the Thimbleberries store. A friend of mine did say she got a postcard saying it was happening though. She also told me that it was the most expensive quilt shop she had ever been in and that she wouldn't have ever gone back again. And she is the biggest Thimblemerries fan I have ever known! How disappointing. So, I didn't figure it would be worth my time to go. Supposedly they are transferring the stock from the retail location to their warehouse to be sold through their online store. I am off to go see my daughter who is home from Indiana for a few days and take her shopping at the Mall of America. Have a great Sunday and talk to you soon. Mary
Hi Suzi! Thanks for adding me as a friend. I live in Waseca, MN. That is about 2 hours from Hutchinson, where Lynette is from. Had you heard anything about the Thimbleberries retail store there closing? I'm going to have to check into that and get there to see it before it does. I am also a member of the Iowa group. I am from Clinton, where my mother and other relatives still live. I also have a brother in Muscatine. Are you going to Des Moines for the AQS show? Mary
Hi Suzi, How are you doing? Hope all is well in Mount Pleasant. I have been looking at your quilts again. They are all so beautiful and I really love Bears in the Woods. Was that a pattern or did you design it yourself? If a pattern, could you tell me where I might find one to purchase? I'd love to make that quilt if you don't mind!
Suzi, it will be nice that your son will be able to move here too. Nothing like having them close. I am the only one of my siblings that live here with my folks. My sister and brother both live in Arizona. Makes it kinda hard sometimes. They come to visit alot, my folks are getting up there in age, wont fly and should not be driving. Mom will be 81 and my dad will be 77. Both have some health issues, nothing major but still have some issues. Looks like it will be another great day today. Have you looked at the disscussion on the AQS show coming to Des Moines in October?? If not you should check it out and see if you can join us there. Several of us are going to meet there and spend some time together. Show is Oct 28,29,30 and 31st. There is lots of info here between us if you need to know anything. Talk to you later, Rhonda
