I have been making miniature quilts for about 7 years. Selling them around the world. I also do miniature cross stitching, making pillows and rugs for dollhouses. I sell all that I make to pay for more supplies.
Thanks for the nice comment on the little bed. My husband made the bed and I believe it was 21" long by 10 or 11 inches wide. (He made it for a friend's niece so I don't have it here to measure.) Once he had it put together, I just cut foam to fit and covered it for the mattress and I think the little quilt was about 16" square. Turned out really cute.
hi teresa! just had a look through your pictures. you do very nice work. not knowing any better, the very first quilt i made was a miniature shoo fly. it was HILARIOUS! i gave it to my best friend and i think she still has it 18 years later. i soon discovered that lap quilts were much easier to make and have stuck with that since. lol! your collection of miniature quilts is very impressive. you must have a lot of patience!
Teresa your mini's are just adorable!! love our work!! I love to make mini's and also see what other people do as well.. I have made a couple of mini's and donated them to auction but had never thought of selling them..I am sure people are interested they are perfect for a little wall/table decoration...but the scrap barrell does not go down any further!!
I really enjoyed your slide show. Great quilts! I've just started making miniatures and now I can't throw away any fabric size. I strugle with knowing how to quilt them by machine, the scale is so small. Thanks for the inspiration.
Teresa, your mini quilts are amazing. It takes such precision to work with tiny pieces/blocks. I love thet traditional patterns and scrap quilt look. I'd have a hard time parting with any of them, so I also admire your ability to market them.
The jewel box quilt pattern that I used came from a Quilt-In-A-Day book. I wish I'd have found the pattern in a magazine, because I'm sure it would have been constructed more conservatively. Oh well, this way I have plenty of scraps for a baby quilt or other project.
Thanks again for stopping by my page and leaving a comment. Happy quilting!
