I've been quilting about 20 years now, self-taught, mother of 2, grandmother of 8. Quilting is my stress release therapy. I don't currently belong to a local quilt guild. My specialty is Art Portrait Quilts which is what I'd like to turn from a hobby to a business when I retire. I love to give handmade items as gifts.
Hi Terri, and welcome from me again. Had to come check out your photos and they are fabulous! You are one talented lady. Look forward to getting acquainted and like Charlotte said, hope you can participate in one of our exchanges/challenges in the future. They are a lot of fun and oh so addictive. It is so much fun to have art work from our friends across the country and even across the seas. We have a couple gals from Australia and one from UK in our art groups. As you can and have the time, check out each of our pages.
Hi, Terri! Welcome to Love of Art Quilts! From the looks of your work, you've joined the right group. :D I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to join in one of our swaps sometime. We've had some doozies and they're always fun. You've got to check into that page pretty often or they chat up a storm and you'll find that if you've skipped a day or two, you're behind 3 or 4 pages! LOL You might also be interested in checking out our two other "sister" groups, Thread Painting and ACEO/ATC. Right now some of us are participating in a 12X12 challenge sort of project on that last one. They're really more art quilts than ATCs (artist trading cards), but it was started by Diana Bracy (check out her page if you want to see some incredible portrait quilts) in that group, so there we are.
